maybe this is a place for this old thought  to be archived …. i don’t know

Seth says
i got an “invalid thought number” the first time i tried to move a thought train too.  i finally used the lower gadget and it pasted through.

Seth says

not sure it works that way yet.

looks like what i picked up was immediately moved to the clipboard and hence is not available to go to.

or something … i don’t know

Seth says
there is no reference back to the original context of the above comment pasted from the clipboard here.

Si says
No, it’s not a fork, it is a move.

Seth says
i understand but still and all where it ends up does not provide any hint as to where it came from.

Seth says
okay, got it.

i interperted the blue “empty” as saying that the clipboard was empty.

incidentally when i click through it did not go to that which i picked up.

Si says
Why should it? It’s not a fork. In the occasional case you want to actually move things and still want to refer to the original you can simply edit it comment. I can’t really think of times I want to do that though. Moving is moving … they didn’t belong in the other case because they were not related to it.

You can also fork a comment, then move anything related to it to the new fork … that’s what I have done a few times now. Then you get both the fork references and all the related stuff on the new.

Si says
Did it go to what it said was there? That thought and comment?

Seth says
it wasn’t lost mark … i watched it.   but what was of interest to me was the media through which you brought it to me … ok ok i went meta on it … but then that is what our desig thinking about promramming thinking domains must needs be doing.

the point now, is that if you don’t want mine and nathan’s understanding of how you expressed yourself to distract from you expressing yourself …. er, well you can just bloody well hide it from your expression … and guess what … it will not hurt my feelings (or nathan’s im presuming) in the least.   That is the beauty of our new SiriTD !!!!   null

Mark de LA says
Angry expression unwarranted (I will withhold my own for you) – It is just the off-topic stuff is more likely than the on topic stuff. Like I said recently somewhere my impression is that my writing will trigger the urge for you folks to post before you have read my entire item or understood the thought.

Seth says
huh?  there was no anger in my expression at all  ?????

Mark de LA says
he point now, is that if you don’t want mine and nathan’s understanding of how you expressed yourself to distract from you expressing yourself …. er, well you can just bloody well hide it from your expression … and guess what … it will not hurt my feelings (or nathan’s im presuming) in the least.

WTF – I guess I’ll return that sentiment right the bloody NOW! null

Seth says
read the whole paragraph mark … i just wanted to emphasize how free you were to hide our OT comments.

Mark de LA says
nullnull

Seth says
and where he moved it, nobody knows null

Seth says
in fact, i am not sure what mark ended up doing,  but his thought is now verginal as he apparently wanted it … and i ended up getting to say something about privacy (see “Kids of America”),  which i have wanted to say for some time.   which  opportunity was provoked by mark’s beautiful post and nathan’s correct analysis of the situation of embed-sharing of videos from facebook.

a uncomfortable moment erased, with the help of SiriTD ?

Mark de LA says
I don’t think I tried to share a video in Kids of America intentionally.

Seth says
omg, nobody said you did.

Mark de LA says
What I got trying to paste the clipboard into my group fork masturbators was the following:
The only way I could get rid of it was to terminate fbi & start over again: Note the RTW is in the middle of something.

Mark de LA says
Everything is where it belongs now. see thought 21382 .

Seth says
pondering hmmm … seems that you somehow ended up just deleting the train … which of course it fine with me.   if i read the gadgets correctly, you can delete any train which you start.  no need to even move it.

Mark de LA says
The train is up above – looks complete to me.null

Seth says
yes , i moved that train here because i started it.   i moved it here, volentarialy,  out of respect for your content.

and temporarialy i would like to leave it here for whatever value SiriTD can glean from it.  as far as i can see, she helped us move our selves away form an uncomfortable interaction.

Mark de LA says
So the train didn’t get deleted. Moving theoretically is a move not a fork. N’s been saying that.

Si says
Well @seth, unless @mark moved the thread to another public place, then he intentionally broke the first law … he removed or made unavailable content by others.

As I said, this early bird ability is here for your all use if you don’t abuse it. If anyone does remove content by others, say by moving a thread to a junk thought and then deleting the thought, then I will remove you all’s ability to use these early-bird features. That was the deal. See thought 21357

Here is what I said:

We’ll see how this goes and if you stubborn old goats can truly play nice. If anyone breaks rule 1 and makes content unavailable to the author of it, then this early bird version of the feature will be restricted to my use only (since I simply won’t do that). We understand that mistakes are mistakes and it will be assumed that simple asking will get the mistake fixed.

Seth says

Seth says
yep, moving a train is literally moving a train.

Mark de LA says
no malevalent intent.  Maybe Seth & I collided trying to do the same thing . Who knows.  I was trying to move the train to group fork masterbaters – he this group. Anyway I showed above a problem which is indicating something peculiar around the same time.  comment 21385#57373

Seth says
yep, your though is now just as you wanted to present it, with no distractions.

there was, however,  an easier way … you could have just hidden that which you did not want presented there.

there are many ways to skin this cat.

Si says
Okay. No problem. I’ll look at it when I get time.

Seth says
yes we may have collided in some peculiar way … or maybe one of us clicked unintentionally something we didnt totally understand  … doesnt matter … point is that SiriTD seemed to perform adequately.

The only question now in my mind is what happens to this comment train.  I got out of it what i wanted, i doubt that mark wants anything here, nathan can gleen whatever, …. er, then what … should we leave it around for historical value … where? …. or just delete it, which apparently i can.
