How do you know you are practicing The Golden Rule?

When you are practicing The Golden Rule? Your communication with others will feel great. That will be the indicator. The feedback you get from others will be helpful and usually positive and either way you will be excited about it. You will enjoy communicating and feel like people understand you and respect your ideas, and you will enjoy respecting theirs. That is what it feels like to practice The Golden Rule.

If your communication with others does not feel like that to you? Then whatever you are doing, it is not actually practicing The Golden Rule. It’s something else.

Do you want to be hammered by the golden rule ? Then don’t hammer others. Generally I have written my comments on the golden rule in group goldenrule – Luke expresses the hammer idea better:

Luke 6:42 [Full Chapter]
How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Yes, I agree with Luke. If you even have a inkling of an impulse to invoke The Golden Rule Hammer, then you best look in your own eye first.

When you are truly practicing The Golden Rule … you will never feel the need to invoke the hammer … that will be the furthest from your mind. For that is the nature of being under the influence of practicing The Golden Rule, you will be seeing the best in communication, both ways!
