Generalizing what "a lie" means to me

I realize that according to the traditional definition of “a lie”, if you believe a proposition is true and speak it, then it is not to be called “a lie”.   Speaking what you believe is true will not negatively effect you biologically.  Whereas if you speak a proposition that you know to be false ,  you will get a distinctive negative feeling so intense that it will register a biological reaction which can be measured objectively on a lie detector.

Yet i keep getting the same distinctive lie feeling about propositions which i know to be false but i don’t even speak myself but just hear them spoken about me by another.

So here is my testable hypothesis …

Hearing a proposition about myself
which i know to be false
will register on a lie detector.
