Fall is a wasted on the city

Leaves fall to the ground and year on year make soil for new growth. Not so in the city. Here they are swept up with tire dust and nauseous chemicals and taken finally to landfill. I verified this by talking with King County maintenance facility and even found the bin where it is waiting to be trucked to the dump. Pictured here, it looked pretty dirty, not something that i would use for organic compost.

Thing is i need these leaves to compost for soil for Russell Farm for next year ....

Mission accomplished .... i didn't even need the leaf mulcer which I intend to take back to home depo.

Does this zoomed picture bear out that interpretation? ... how bout the extra added fact that 2 people were standing there?

before i started using the garbarge can i had burried about 2 weeks of kitchen scraps in a mound of dirt and grass that was leftover from digging up the lawn. i went up top of that mound and dug as deep as i possibly could and it was all just soft soil, nothing of the scraps remained. they tell us to use the can out of fear from rats ... but i am not so sure that the free soil is better.

i also fell off the mound and fractured my bones. so jason needed to finish the digging down there to get the soil, which we put over the eggplant which did not bear any fruit.

Yep,. a lot of shit happens in the name of the "common good" or the "greater good'. I'm not an anarchist, but I shun others' attempts to define what either term points to in any specific situation by some over-arching law or formal definition.

Well big things do happen when people get on the same wave length, cooperating with each other to make them happen. That happens best, imho, from the bottom up ... but if a strong leader tells a compelling story, it can catch from his ego, top down.

Spitting the distasteful name "good" out of your mouth is just telling a story against your joining the cooperation ... same story you tell about "we" ... it is your grand excuse never to cooperate with something outside of yourself ... and it works for you every time ... for example you now feel totally justified in affixing mono-item subjective judgemental tags.

Thing is, cooperation is what this life does in the long run ... the rest, as far as i can tell, is static or some glorious story in service only to a transitory selfie animal.

Well given my 3 foot height on the mound, that the bones on my left arm absorbed the kinetic energy of my fall, and that arm is where the sharp pain happens when i put any weight on those bones, i am assuming that it is a fracture.
The good news is that bones heal

By design tagging somebody else's item cannot be private to yourself. your freedom is not the issue, never was, ... the issue by design is what retrievals or associations can be shared. if it were practical i would charge a micro payment for tag rooms containing a single item ... er so as to strike a balance between the needs of pertinent associations and your selfie mirth.

they have the idea already. i am one of the few who have used it to the hilt. Nobody seems to realize where that halt is, and how much more useful it becomes when more and more people use it with integrity. so it has become like a wheel, which unattached to a vehicle, seems just a fun thing to play with.

actually that in a whole ecology of incentives and disincentives might actually work to move our social media awareness to become more referential and focused with increased integrity ... and yes twitter has the transaction volume to make it interesting.

thing is these bamtags, as nathan dubbed them, apparently are a lot of fun for people ... notwithstanding that they are a corruption. nathan and I discussed this at length in folldle.me but it would be too tedious to make that accessible to you here. nathan's solution was to separate #tags from #bamtags ... me, i am not so sure that would end up favoring tags. its a case where opting for an instant selfie high, degrades the commons ... given all the memes today favoring the former, the latter decays ... see the "tragedy of the commons", a famous paper on the subject.

Google searches prefer anding all words ... but if they don't find any of those, they may include results with only some of the words. Fastblogit tag search requires an exact match of all words.

I do have a lot of selfie shadow pictures here, and apparently others have taken many more. "shadow selfie" is a more referential tag as it brings us more pertinent shadow pictures ... kudos

yeah, I don't look elsewhere when I tag, just at what I am tagging at the moment. The tag was intended to amuse.

i have found that the extra effort in getting a good tag pays off in the long run in how many associations and remembrances we connect to both internally and externally.

Yep, I've yet to see any synergy there yet. If I want to find [google composting] for example I will just do the search - likewise with facebook & G+. I rarely do anything with twitter. I just discovered the utility of Pinterest for pictures.

Well i have seen the synergy. No amount of retyping search arguments on other websites can possibly simulate it, especially for intentionally making trains of thought among materials here and linking them to external thoughts. To me it is thinking itself.

now that you mention it, maybe i should include pinterest in the external tag links ... that might increase the ease of finding pertinent images beyond the current google images which is already working quite well.

perhaps incidental to you, is that regardless of the value of your complaints to yourself, what they are not, is cooperation with tagging. That should be clear, even to you. to me you are like a person who has put on his skies and stands stationary on a snowy slope complaining how skiing is no fun at all.

Again, the story I am telling here is that there is an extreme value for humans to cooperate. It may well be the path to most amazing things that humans can do, and the foundation of civilization itself. Your exemplifying the opposite with your complaints is a strange and funny distraction from that story

the fact that you seem angry about this indicates to me that all of these messages are complaints, your assertion to the contrary notwithstanding.

Re complaints it would be interesting to distinguish between an analysis (and or a judgement) and complaining. Seems to me that the element of anger and ad honimem insults turns a objective analyst or a honest judgement into just a complaint. ... which according to this train of thought, complaining, is to be avoided.
