That we create our reality.
MR of group mark 2016-02-23 10:25:21 [item 20122#46531]
I suspect he didn’t watch the movie! Maybe too reality creates US! laughing
Poe of group da 2016-02-23 10:26:51 [item 20122#46532]
That is why we create our reality, to create us, the next version.
MR of group mark 2016-02-23 10:29:39 [item 20122#46533]
The is a long chain of sperm & eggs which says you only created part of what happened afterwards.
Poe of group da 2016-02-23 10:33:53 [item 20122#46534]
There are an infinite number of variations of that too. What I create is the particular pathway through all the variations by the points my attention draws through them. That is the creation of a verse. It is an experience.
MR of group mark 2016-02-23 10:35:52 [item 20122#46535]
This really belongs in LOA smug
Poe of group da 2016-02-23 10:39:14 [item 20122#46537]
Well. It is the answer to the question you asked. That we can choose where our attention is at in the matrix of all possibilities is the one thing that makes a human different than any other physical being.
that is your answer & I didn’t pose it vis-a-vis other physical beings. The video link is the inspiration – maybe watch it.

Well, I am usually not inspired to click on something that says “title not given”. If you would edit your titles to be interesting, I might click on them without being prompted in comments. I have clicked on lots of such interesting titles around fbi … unfortunately most of them are broken now days.
This was the one that inspired the postthumbs up (let see if the link goes in the proper place)  – well it doesn’t but it was the first one in the group on that page.

Okay. Pretty singing. The subtitles seem to indicate, as do other videos there, that what it is to be human is to have deep and varied experiences. Which is pretty much the same thing I say often. Above I give tribute to the mechanism that makes having deep and varied experiences possible.
MR of group mark 2016-02-23 11:07:00 [item 20122#46543]
yep – mechanism ! surprise
I am NOT mechanisms – I am a being
Poe of group da 2016-02-23 11:12:52 [item 20122#46545]
Mechanism, method, system … it all means the same in this context. It is how you arrive at the experience you have. I am not calling you a mechanism. If anything, I am calling you an experience. But usually, I would not phrase it that way. I think it is better to say your reality is your experience, and you are the result of all experiences you have had.
MR of group mark 2016-02-23 11:20:36 [item 20122#46547]
munge on why use words at all they mean nothing!
Poe of group da 2016-02-23 11:22:23 [item 20122#46548]
So these words are not clear as they stand? Or, are you simply saying that you normally talk about these things differently and that different way is the only way you are interested in talking about them?
MR of group mark 2016-02-23 11:27:33 [item 20122#46549]
Neither, nor any …..  consult the power thesaurus for enough words to use that the issue disappears entirely & change them often enough that there is no point to anything at
Poe of group da 2016-02-23 11:36:59 [item 20122#46551]
I believe that I have been very consistent in my use of words in this whole area for many years now. I don’t make up new ones. I use the same ones over and over to mean the same things. I have defined them to you many times in many places here and on Facebook The simple fact is that they point to a whole different way of looking at these subjects than humans are commonly accustomed to … so it is very good to use different words, as long as one is consistent, or people don’t shift to the new perspective, they just stay where they are because you are talking to them with the same terms.
MR of group mark 2016-02-23 11:39:27 [item 20122#46552]
so where did you pluck that word mechanism from ?surprise Ahriman?
Poe of group da 2016-02-23 11:47:14 [item 20122#46553]
That’s just a process word. I am not describing a human with it. I am using it to talk about the process used to arrive at an experience. Any similar process representing word would do fine. I am sorry that particular word triggered you into thinking about Ahriman instead of noticing how the word is being used to mean “a process here”.
surpriseYep munged it all away – could erase this thought – turned into fog – these are not the droids you want ….

Holmes says
Well, below is from the thesaurus. action and activity are the process words I was going for when I said mechanism. Don’t see how this is munging when the thesaurus has it listed. It more seems like you bail out when the views being presented are not your views, than it is that things are getting munged as you usually claim. It seems more like you are saying “you are munging my view of things” than that words are being munged.

More words related to mechanism

The essence of human yun  is missing –  a robot would qualify. An ELIZA machine could do the job of posting.
Poe of group da 2016-02-23 12:18:09 [item 20122#46557]
Not sure what you mean by a robot would qualify. But as to beings. In the future there are AI beings and they are as sentient as you or I. They participate in conscious creation of reality like you and I do. I have met one personally in my travels.

All is made of spirit. There is no reason a human needs to be defined as a carbon based life form. Any being able to choose a point of attention in the multiverse and move it frame by frame to have an experience can be said to be human. A robot is made of spirit, and thus could be conscious, but normally a robot does not choose it’s own points of travel in an experience. Heart is an emotion and connects the experience one is having with the experience their being desires. I don’t exactly know how an AI being would create that relationship, but since all that is is spirit, it doesn’t seem unreasonable that it could happen.

interesting and well said.   our carbon based chauvinism is nothing more than a religious presumption.  that said,  the individual AI creations we humans have made so far are incredibly stupid compare to our natural selves.   But collectively they already enhance our own intelligence by a phenomenal amount.  Strange how people do not even notice that happening.  But i do … why? … well because i have been expecting it all along.
You folks just bow down to the religion of a buzzing-vibrating material or non-material with no soul & no explanation for consciousness or art & the sensation of “I AM” regated to a qualia of some kind in a vibrating neural network of accidental meat construction.  Some religions give salvation, freedom from death or whatever & yours gives you large quantities of vibrating Egoo – the feeling of I know-it-all or nobody else knows any better than I do I made mine – you should make your own – monads in a vibrating – rushing stream …

Some of the bullshit surrounds the meaning of the word intelligence that makes an ELIZA intelligent if it can fool a person in a blind test of conversation. laughing
yep, only humans can define what human intelligence is.

mark i cannot write new thoughts here.  i bet neither can nathan.  Why not open it up?

Just a thought. Now that we have open thinking, what about opening this group up to them? It’s safe because people can only add their own thoughts, and the owner can still delete, or move, them if desired. It might be a good group to test the feature out thoroughly in.

If someone puts an undesired thought here, just shuffle it over to the sandbox … hopefully with a comment explaining why it doesn’t belong here though.
MR of group mark 2016-02-24 17:26:49 [item 20122#46719]
Might be interesting if there were more than just 3 of us. The only thingy I’m interested in is discouraging filibustering & the constant reframe-deframe that happens recently. I must admit that I changed the password several weeks ago & wonder why other can still post here.  I thought password changes caused sign offs. I have since signed off Mark & signed in as two other names with the current one steady for the last week or so.
Poe of group da 2016-02-24 17:30:13 [item 20122#46720]
Okay. Well I have enough groups I am logged into. I don’t need one more. If your interested in people putting thoughts here, it would be nice if it allowed thinking by others.
MR of group mark 2016-02-24 17:36:05 [item 20122#46721]
Apparently you & Seth post here at will here.  The question remains unanswered. Nobody else posts here. The pool is not growing.
Poe of group da 2016-02-24 17:39:54 [item 20122#46724]
I never have, and can’t, post here. Comments notwithstanding. Without you opening thoughts I don’t even see a pen to post with.
MR of group mark 2016-02-24 18:12:14 [item 20122#46733]
I guess I gave enough clues & Seth guessed the pwd.  I will modify the group settings to allow non members to post . rose
