Inconvenient Truthiness vs Reality

T Boone Pickens likes windmills however. In the transcript he also explains peak oil & some other things related to the price of oil. See also 10153 when I finish it.

7/8/2009 T Boone apparently not so enthusiastic about wind power since he has more turbines than infrastructure. This is what I mean about not being able to add up things but only being able to multiply. Read it here. Maybe the government forgot to put his massive need for connection to the grid in their stimulus bill.

And now from recent history of mars:
source: ...
With improving telescopes and spectroscopy, we came to learn in the 20th Century that Mars is in reality a cold dry and dusty planet. Colder than Antarctica and drier than the Sahara, it has less than 1% Earth's atmospheric pressure, and 97% of that is suffocating CO2
... why are they cold if CO2 causes global warming? Why is there any ice at all?
& from recent information about climate changes on Jupiter:
source: ...
Increased turbulence and storms first observed on Jupiter more than two years ago are still raging, according to astronomers from the University of California, Berkeley, and the W. M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii, who snapped high-resolution pictures of the planet earlier this month
...WOW! Climate changes & mega amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere on other planets & yet those pesky humans are nowhere to be found.  (Must be our CO2 is being evacuated to them through a wormhole somehow).

Actually i think they did ...

The U.S. Department of Energy has 60 days to set up a competitive process to award an estimated $4.3 billion for projects that will upgrade the nation's electric grid. That's one of the top clean technology provisions of the $787 billion economic stimulus package President Barack Obama signed into law Tuesday (Feb.. 17).
... more references can be found with a Google of smart grid stimulus package.  This was one of the parts of the stimulus that really did make sense.  The only problem with it seems to be how slowly they are able to get it going.  I heard that on CNBC this morning.
source:  CNBC
Construction has ground to a near halt as developers wait for the Obama administration -- which has said green jobs and alternative energy will be a key part of its $787 billion stimulus package -- to deliver on promises that include allowing companies who build wind farms to collect tax credits quickly, ...
The audio report this morning seemed to be a bit more detailed as to what the administration needs to do to move things along.

Funny that the goal of collecting tax credits quickly was stated rather than generating energy. So is TBoone waiting to doggle his boons or giving up too quickly?
Your point is opaque to me.  This is just the traditional way that governments give out tax credits for doing something that they want to encourage.  We want more wind energy to be developed, but it cost more to develop than to burn the dirty stuff, so we tax is less to level the playing field.  I don't see the problem, but i guess you do.

Yep, an opaque brain would miss it entirely. It is similar to the stupid idea of cap & trade. When/if it becomes law then the main idea will be to get carbon credits & sell them at a higher rate the whole purpose being lost in the bubble of a new boondoggle. If I were T Boone or whomsoever I would state my goal to make a lot of money selling wind energy.

He never had to state that goal, we all knew it in advance.  Certainly T Boone is in it for the money ... err he is a entrepreneur. That's what they do.  What this oil man is doing, however,  is trying to make his money on alternative energies like wind rather than drilling like he had been doing.  Making lots of money on alternative energy is what a lot of entrepreneurs are doing now and that is exactly what Obama is encouraging them to do.  Cap-n-trade is another mechanism that will also encourage these alternative industries.  It is better than a straight tax on carbon just because it encourages these alternative industries.  You lack of comprehension not withstanding.
You lack the delicate distinctions of the irony. Please don't expand on the obviousnesses any more. Cap & trade by any other name is just another tax - enjoy it. You certainly will be paying for it in everything you do.

The struggling, foreign-owned wind power company that laid off two-thirds of its Arkansas workforce earlier this month after receiving more than $30 million in aid from the federal government also received $15 million from the state of Arkansas and was heavily promoted by the state’s Democratic governor.

LM Wind Power, a Denmark-based global wind energy firm, promised to bring 1,000 jobs to Little Rock, Ark., when its manufacturing facility broke ground in 2007. In return, it received $15 million from the state and a multitude of tax breaks.

However, early this August, just days after a $32 million loan from the Export-Import (Ex-IM) Bank was approved to a Brazilian company to purchase LM Wind turbines from its Arkansas facility, the firm laid off 234 of the Arkansas plant’s roughly 300 workers.

... Owned by people in London, .... etc. Wikipedia on LM Wind Power.  Has the USA lost it's power to manufacture things ?

for those who poo poo alternative energy solutions ...Denmark Just Produced 140% Of Its Electricity Needs Via Wind Power

does it not just feel better than drilling for oil in the arctic ?
