is there a simple url reference in our future just in case we start typing and then don't want to switch to the RTE url http://fastblogit.com and have to scrape the edit box and cut & paste (which doesn't have a paste on the right menu button yet) and so on....

however, on wonders whether we shold ack that the W3C has depreciated the term "URL". The prefered term now is "URI".

The πολλοι probably wouldn't know what a uri is as apposed to a URL which maybe some of them have heard about.

really i am not trying to be pedantic here ... there are actually whole working groups over at the w3c that work on defining what a uri is. for the hoy paloy a uri is a url, a url is a uri. but somebody might think us retarded unless we use the more "up to date" term

sigh, not something that i have anything to say about. we just need to decide to use "url" or use "uri" and stick to one or the other.

so somethimes we say "uri" and sometimes we say "url" and we dont expect that our audience will get confused ?

If they are synonyms why would there be any confusion. BTW deprecated in some contexts means it is being aged out - not discontinued. Both is the answer. In any case I will understand - it's the users I am concerned with.
