Outside of the spin, there are no new facts here that were not in the ABC report. But in the ABC report we also get a bit of Wooten's side of the story. Me thinks it would be best if Palin does not try to cover it up or obstruct the investigation. Get everything out asap. I doubt that it will change any votes ... unless it is also a pattern of behavior. I will be voting against the top of the ticket for more profound reasons.

It is not un-ironic that if you start your search on troopergate you get a bundle that includes Bill Clinton & Governor Spitzer. Maybe the lefties don't quite get at-will employment. In my CyberMind days i came up with the idea that "not-not = surprise

" - rather than "true". Lately you seem to be utilizing that same kind of creative logic with your "not illegal" of 10432, and now we get "un-ironic". The logical question in these cases and these kinds of thought processes, is whether you have found something new or whether your though process has just come up with an error. Me thinks, in the case of implying irony from search results, it is the latter. Now counting instances of Google results is a useful tool - i use it frequently to decide correct spelling of a specific new term, or to determine if some particular reference is being used. But to get irony out of it ... that's just funny

Well it is irony given the political attempt to smear Palin which hairs right back into Bill Clinton & gov. Spitzer of NY of the opposing Democrat party.

Well, irony, like beauty being in the eye of the beholder - i guess you can have it your way. It's like seeing Jesus on a piece of toast. Then too there are people who game these searches - if there is an actual message there, you might be seeing their work.

The state Personnel Board-sanctioned investigation is the second into whether Palin violated state ethics law in firing her public safety commissioner, and it contradicts the earlier findings by a special counsel hired by the state Legislature.

Both investigations found that Palin was within her rights to fire Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan.

But the new report says the Legislature's investigator was wrong to conclude that Palin abused her power by allowing aides and her husband, Todd, to pressure Monegan and others to dismiss her ex-brother-in-law, Trooper Mike Wooten. Palin was accused of firing Monegan after Wooten stayed on the job.

Petumenos wrote the Legislature's special counsel, former state prosecutor Steve Branchflower, used the wrong state law as the basis for his conclusions and also misconstrued the evidence.

His findings and recommendations include:

- There is no cause to believe Palin violated the state ethics law in deciding to dismiss Monegan as public safety commissioner.

- There is no cause to believe Palin violated the state ethics law in connection with Wooten.

- There is no cause to believe any other state official violated the ethics act.

- There's no basis to conduct a hearing to "address reputational harm," as requested by Monegan.
