Obama explains Lipstickgate to Letterman : Video

If our political dialogue means anything then its terms must be referential - they must point to something; and we should agree not to switch referents in an attempt to confuse people.  In the video Barack explains to Letterman that the "pig" referred to the Bush/McCain failed economic policies ... not to Sarah Palin. 

Now you could call Sarah the lipstick McBush is putting on his failed economics ... but never the pig ... no she's not the pig.   Anyone trying to claim that reference is someone trying to confuse  you.
