Ming & Chinese Etymology

Some websites that are a great help in decoding Ming & perhaps a help in creating new words in Ming or decoding the old ones are:

  2. Chinese Etymology - the breakdown & meaning of the parts of a character
  3. Yellow Bridge - new for me, it seems to be a better form of nciku with trees of derivation of a character with a lot of other stuff
  4. The Ming Translator - our own Ming translator with the characters and the verse from BC-II - currently with the new server & software there is an error in that last word doesn't come out unless you follow the input ming with a space followed by a period. (or some other random word)
  5. The concordance of the BC-II dictionary
  6. The concordance to the Book Chameleon verses - look here for clues to the use of ming to translate words used in the verses
  7. The concordance to Liber Legis- included here as a companion of the other concordances.
  8. http://www.zhongwen.com/ is the dictionary complex behind the I Ching (Yi Zing) online version & translation online of other of Wilhelm & Legge's stuff.

Chinese characters have the same problem as syllables in English - refinement down to the smallest part doesn't always lead to clarity of the meaning of the word.

Concordances were provided by this product. I worked with the guy once when he was having trouble with the product running on my opsys. Seems as if he is still having trouble again.  It is built upon the KWIC index method “A KWIC index is formed by sorting and aligning the words within an article title to allow each word (except the stop words) in titles to be searchable alphabetically in the index.” 
ponderingI wonder if fbi could:
  • provide concordances of :
    • an Author’s public thoughts
    • a Group’s public thoughts
    • a selection of thoughts collected by a search
    • a selection of thoughts linked to on a specified item
  • a one button push conversion to a word/tag cloud google word cloud with shapes
