Man rescued from cement powder avalanche

SEATTLE - An hour and a half after a rescue was launched at a Seattle cement products plant, firefighters freed a man who had been trapped under an avalanche of cement powder.
This place is spooky - i was out there last year and got the picture shown below.  I poked my head in the dome - it is easy to see how a avalanche could happen. Since it's raining now in Seattle, i'v always wondered if the power outside of the dome ever just hardens up.

An Ash Grove Cement spokesperson says there were problems getting the powder cement out of a dome where it is stored. Somehow, the dome opened up, sending the dry cement flowing.

Traffic on East Marginal Way was not affected.

Ash Grove Cement is the same place where a barge loaded with gravel broke in two in early May.
... how that dome works is a mystery to me ... especially how it works when it rains.
