7 OBAMA Broken Promises in Record Time

1. Make government open and transparent.

2. Make it "impossible" for Congressmen to slip in pork barrel projects.

3. Meetings where laws are written will be more open to the public. (Even Congressional Republicans shut out.)

4. No more secrecy.

5. Public will have 5 days to look at a bill.

6. You’ll know what’s in it.

7. We will put every pork barrel project online.

This was the funniest cartoon i've seen in a long time ... except perhaps this one ... but am looking for one which rags on the republicans premature hyperventilation.

This is close but not quite funny enough.

Wasteful and Non-Stimulative Spending in the House-Senate Conference Report - while some of them might be good ideas for later & should be debated at length with all the members participating. Most of them have nothing to do with stimulating anything except government & politicians. Where are the jobs? How will they stimulate private enterprise?

Passing an overhyped spending bill is like a housewife who is already in default on all 10 of her major credit cards asking daddy for 20 more credit cards to spend on (HOPING) to keep going without considering how the debt will ever get paid back & by whom.

Yep! Let us wait 2 years for the OBAMERECTION! (before we cover our assholes)
... maybe something along the lines of illustrating republicans desperately tying their hopes of success to their own financial disaster.
Nonsense! try again.

Well this is close ... so make it funnier ... and not specific to Limbaugh and you have exactly "republicans desperately tying their hopes of success to their own financial disaster".  Kind of like democrats wanting the surge to fail ... iow, putting party interests above national interests.

Other than your puking partisanship what have you said? Nothing! Obama is spending money to be paid back in some future by your kid's taxes (If he doesn't just lay back & suck off the tit of the public sow). Address that as the issue being raised here or your comments are not worth shit! Or address the fact that Obama has broken a bunch of campaign promises. In either case Limbaugh is not in government & O is & is responsible for a broken budget & spending money faster than anyone can track where it is going; if even after it spent.

Analysis: Obama plans eclipsing New Deal spending
~~

Mark de LA says

source: ...

The 1930s began with federal outlays representing just 3.4 percent of the nation's economy as measured by the gross domestic product. Roosevelt's efforts to fight the Depression with government spending caused outlays to rise to 10.3 percent of GDP by 1939 and to 12 percent by 1941 on the eve of U.S. involvement in World War II.

By contrast, government spending was 21 percent of GDP last year. Obama's economic recovery policies are expected to bring it up to 30 percent or more.

"The New Deal by today's standards involved a minuscule amount of spending," said Allan J. Lichtman, a professor of political history at American University. He said Obama is more of a "big spender" than was Roosevelt.

Roosevelt had a bigger crisis on his hands. Unemployment was 25 percent when he took office.

Last month's jobless rate was 7.6 percent, up from 4.9 percent a year before but still shy of the postwar high of 10.8 percent reached in 1982—and far from Great Depression levels.

...so what is the hype for?

Mark de LA says
hype anyone?

Here is just as good a place to put this blog entry from Michael Goldfarb on the president's Op-ed in WashPo.
source: ...

Noticeably absent from the President’s op-ed on the stimulus today are the words “save or create 3.5 to 4 million jobs.” In their place, a new definition of success for the stimulus: “it will steadily save and create jobs as it ramps up over this summer and fall.” Just “jobs” not “millions of jobs?” Oh, and apparently, the stimulus was only supposed to provide “the boost necessary to stop the free fall.” And, “it has done that”—even though the unemployment rate is going up, not down as predicted. As you read the op-ed below, remember what their definition was for a successful stimulus just two months ago: “The first and most important purpose of the act is to preserve and create jobs.”

Notice in the purpose of the bill it is stated as the first one is "to preserve & create jobs & promote economic recovery".
