Division of Labor is Good - disputed by arguments

Often specialization ignores the innate capabilities of a human who may be good for a lot of different jobs. Often the division of labor puts labor in a capital domain where it dehumanizes the person.

It is pretty clear that an individual who can do more and become more self sufficient will lead a  more satisfying life.  This was driven home to me recently when i watched "Alone in the Wilderness"  where Dick Proenneke lives along in Alaska and builds a log cabin and survives quite nicely on his own labor.  I would recommend this film to anyone who wants to get a feeling of what self sufficiency means.  Proenneke is truly a Renaissance man.  Certainly his soul is enhanced by mastering his environment.
