Note that some of the quotes in the website, repeated in this item, are backward which I presume the author intended in order to emphasize his point of view. I would add my own quote to this perspective by saying that that government which remains in gridlock the longest governs the best & spends the least!

Embrace polarity. Embrace the Tao.
I can hold all the points of view of the entire zodiac in my mind & review something from each point of view at my own leisure. Embracing polarity doesn't mean that I have to choose one point of view or the other all the time or any of the time.
The way out of conflict is to find agreement at a higher level & point of view in friendly cases, like presumably in representative government. In other cases like war & terrorism I think the they have to work themselves out in conquest. It is when the one case resembles the other case as in the most recent election that things get dicey & REAL Leadership is needed.

I have no problem with differences being worked out in conflict. It is where the conflict is obscured by artificial associations that politicians waste energy ... energy that would better be used to resolve (fight out) the actual conflict. For example, when a representative votes according to the gang (democrat/republican) and not according to the issue, then the basic conflict is not being addressed. Drill down the real conflict ... that was what "Paradox and Otherness" was all about ... that is how i would like to see our politicians "Embrace the Tao". For example how do you get to minimal government and still maintain the reasonable collective pressure of society. That is one issue that needs to be fought out ... not Bloods vs Crypts ... not character assassination of a president or the obstruction of his administration.

The art of war also includes obstruction, blocking etc. just like chess. When you are outnumbered you have to play with different rules then when you have a bigger mass of armies. Such strategies & techniques are well described in Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. Politics has little rational in it - mostly the rhetoric of Pathos & fake Ethos (people claiming authority to speak for the American people etc). See also the tipping point. Minimal government is not my schtick. Right-sized government & dynamic equilibrium (sustainability in the original sense of the word not current political one) are my desire. The current path is not sustainable at all. In the current environment you have to ask for less & minimization before you get to right-sized.
BTW, the current president did very little else other than character-assassinate his way to a second term.

Nope! I read Frankfurt's paragraph & thought it was satire illustrating bullshit. The first sentence doesn't seem to be true. I am saving it for later when I want to think about bullshit.

i recommend listening to the whole thing ... but you're not going to like it ... he is saying what i have been saying ... only with more authority

Well, the second sentence is worse than the first. Ponder this, that a person who does not know the truth & makes something up to fill the void is probably a liar. Not-knowing is a void that most people fill with bullshit. A person who does not know the truth should answer "I don't know" to tell the truth which would be the proper response. A lie is no proper response to knowing the truth.
