Semi-Homemade Burgers and Fries

Denise said it was good .  What were trying to do is to construct a meal that Jason can make himself without going to Jack in the Box.  I'm going to make a cost study of this.

Prep time: 20 minutes (minimum to crisp the fries in the oven)

We both drooped weight on this hamburger ... go figure.

Ok, here is some new costing info on the fries ...
  • $6.00 at Costco for 144 oz.
  • The serving size in  3 oz,
  • so that equates to $.13/ serving.
  • Manufacturer: Lamb Weston
They come in a box with 4 bags that go nicely in the freezer.

I'm thinking of opening my own food channel and vlogging stuff like this on youtube.

Wouldn't a bag of potatoes & a knife to cut them up be cheaper & more ecologically sound ?

Yep, of course.  But what we are dealing with here, is entrenched behavior ... not mine, Jason's. There is no way that he is going to peel a potato, slice it, and then contrive to deep fry or bake it long enough to make french fried.  I think that goes for a lot of other people too.  But they will drive for 10 minutes to Jack in the Box and back with a meal that cost them about $8.00 ... which would have taken them maybe half of an hour to earn.  So throwing these in an oven for 20 minutes is a step in the right direction.
