Feature... time expiring public items

I find that I need to publish something public to get the attention of those who may hang out in the living stream instead of a particular group or tag room.  I think that something that serves the purpose of notifying a particular author that I have something to view in a particular room is a needed feature. For the Seth I have 1361 which is in a room that he does not frequent very often.  I want to keep it private.

I suppose email would be the obvious way to do this, but we don't track user's emails. mailto: goes in the wrong direction. The living stream will ultimately run too fast.

This is a feature of being able to hang out in many different "rooms" & being a member of different groups. True private rooms would make this even more problem.

how come come of the input area for tags on the item are yellow and some are not ?

On the other hand a time switch that makes an item turn from public to private might be interesting.

Well lets acknowledge that the purpose is satisfied by news & maybe even by chat. The real need is to notify somebody that a private item has happened (for a particular person in a particular group). If the intended target is online & watching the news & monitors a group, that may work. There is always email! (please don't make an email port in fbi).
