May want to make sure the numbers on the tags in the tag list are real & allow a sort by count as well. This would also correspond with 1405.

I ran into the blog entry of the guy who claims he built this site.  Christopher Schmidt
of n?ts.  I think he hangs out in swhack.

His applications are roughly equivalent to our rooms.

Theirs is slick & clean. I don't want to check their code as a developer because that might lead to a conflict of interest later on. I think our strength is one interface for all purposes .. makes us easier to use!

Fastblogit is a general purpose communication application\media.  Ning is a social web site application builder.  It must attempts to identify elements that are common to such web services and allows the developer to choose and cutomized them.  I wonder about the compromises that are necessary achieve that level of abstraction.  I will need to see if this scheme of theirs gains traction.

The old examples were social-networking sites like Friendster and LinkedIn, both of which I found annoying and ultimately of little use. The newer examples are far better: Flickr, Craigslist, Bloglines and Wikipedia, for example. They're not just community for the sake of connection; there's actually something to do there.

But the reality of Ning is that it?s lost whatever coolness it had, no one uses it and Ning is going to have a very hard time getting people?s attention when they finally do roll out better functionality.
