Mass Hysteria or Insanity?

About: Drudge Headlines above the fold - 9/10/2010 AM

Just because some members of a particular religion go insane does that necessarily mean that all their members have to do likewise? Do all other religions need to respond in likewise manner?
The solution is brinksmanship! Pull out at the last minute & expose all the insanity & hysteria for what it IS!  The nasty trick might be couched in the terms of a blowjob, i.e. "I won't come in your mouth!" Does mankind have to swallow this shit?

 - Seems like the same old RWG to me.
(Sorry for making it wrong!)
Like some airplanes & jets have, humans need a PULL UP! inner voice sensor.

Hopefully, this episode will only leave behind the thin perfume of a pinched loaf.

Well i think that our president adopted exactly the correct stance twords this controversy today in his 911 commiserative address ...
source:  Al Arabiya News Channel

"As Americans, we will not and never will be at war with Islam," Obama said at a memorial service at the Pentagon to remember the 184 people who were killed after a hijacked plane slammed into the Defense Department headquarters.”

"It was not a religion that attacked us that September day. It was al-Qaeda, a sorry band of men which perverts religion."
... answering finally and without quibble William F Buckley's question.
This item is about the insanity & hysteria in members of all religions - your Obamaphilia notwithstanding!  How is it that those in Islamic countries can mock, malign & burn Christian bibles & destroy their churches & chop of the heads of Jews (in the name of Islam) & many of today's so-called moderate moslems, the president, the M$M, & the UN at best only whisper their condemnations of it? It's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. Here is Jesus' Parable about the Wheat & the Tares:
source: ...

Matthew XIII. 24-30

24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

... He also said love thine enemy as thyself ... but that, I guess, only applies to some Christians.  My faith, btw, does not depend on books nor a bible nor a koran nor ...

Mark de LA says
It is nice that the Obamatron spoke the words "We are not and never will be at war with Islam" ....
HMMmmm...If wonder if you could find a spokesman for Islam of similar stature that could say "We are not and never will be at war with the United States of America"

This story continues to give & give. Apparently an Australian lawyer & atheist rolls fake dubies & smokes pages from the Koran & the Bible for a taste test spoof & puts it on YouTube -  which post has been deleted. Here is the article.
This article triggers the thoughts within me that Islam is a political religion without freedom of choice within it.  Apparently the terroristic proponents of that religion have gotten the rest of us so scared (via the 9/11 incident & other miscellaneous activities like random & not so random bombs blowing up all over the Middle East) that Westerners are afraid to say anything against them or even draw cartoons or spoof their behaviors.  Perhaps this entire episode is exactly about that.  A religion whose name means submission now means submission to earthly mullahs & Imams (similar to the popes).  At least Christianity, as I was taught it, is all about human freedom .

Yes and my comment and our president's was about calming, perchance ending, that "insanity & hysteria" unlike yours which only stokes it.
You & the president did not address the underlying issues - your Obamaphilia got in the way. As in the Golden Rule, love thy neighbor & thine enemy as thyself goes well to evolving good humans; at the group & national levels it is poor policy. An insane & hysteric group is only restrained by force & defeat, not logic or empathy.  Of course if you want to submit go right ahead, but please stay out of my neighborhood. How well has Obama dealt with the issues with Iran's atomic bomb, the problems with the Taliban, etc . Do the Moslem countries now all love us?

Imho, this was one of Obama's finest addresses as president of the United States ...
source: Remarks by the President at the Pentagon Memorial, September 11, 2010

They may seek to spark conflict between different faiths, but as Americans we are not -- and never will be -- at war with Islam.  It was not a religion that attacked us that September day -- it was al Qaeda, a sorry band of men which perverts religion.  And just as we condemn intolerance and extremism abroad, so will we stay true to our traditions here at home as a diverse and tolerant nation.  We champion the rights of every American, including the right to worship as one chooses -- as service members and civilians from many faiths do just steps from here, at the very spot where the terrorists struck this building.

....

For our cause is just.  Our spirit is strong.  Our resolve is unwavering.  Like generations before us, let us come together today and all days to affirm certain inalienable rights, to affirm life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  On this day and the days to come, we choose to stay true to our best selves -- as one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

This is how we choose to honor the fallen -- your families, your friends, your fellow service members.  This is how we will keep alive the legacy of these proud and patriotic Americans.  This is how we will prevail in this great test of our time.  This is how we will preserve and protect the country that we love and pass it -- safer and stronger -- to future generations.

May God bless you and your families, and may God continue to bless the United States of America.  (Applause.)
... you should take his words as leading our nation and follow them !

Obama's speeches are written by speech writers. His deeds & his results not his words speak to his abilities & what he is up to. Apparently his outreach to the Palestinians has been rebuffed & even Abbas is aligning itself with Syria more than ever & Hamas.  Go lecture somewhere else.

Exactly!  Nor are we ... this is not a opportunity to pit Islamic value against Christian ones ... that pittance is in fact the "insanity & hysteria".
What utter bullshit. This item is not about Obamaphilia either nor is it about cabbages & peanut butter. It is not about your use of the word pittance, although you might look that one up in the dictionary.  I solved the problem in my statement about "pulling up" or brinksmanship & exposing all the hysteria for what it IS - & it worked.  The Islamists have been exposed, the extreme Christians have been exposed, the M$M one-sidedness has been exposed & Obama's bullshit has been exposed. Hmmm... I need an Icon for patting myself on the back - maybe this one will do:

The movie Ghandi was long but was full of goodies and mythos of the man. Anyway, I like the following quote which showed up during his fast against the Hindu-Moslem violence:
~
Nahari: I'm going to Hell! I killed a child! I smashed his head against a wall.
Gandhi: Why?
Nahari: Because they killed my son! The Muslims killed my son!
[indicates boy's height]
Gandhi: I know a way out of Hell. Find a child, a child whose mother and father have been killed and raise him as your own.
[indicates same height]
Gandhi: Only be sure that he is a Muslim and that you raise him as one.
~
cf:(*). red emphasis is mine
~
There are lots of other memorable quotes that show up - even in the trailer which relates to the problems of our time. I like the reciprocity & Golden Rule aspect of the quote.

A fascinating account of the firing of a Saudi Arabian TV manager.  Now what's going on here?
Source (TWS): ...

In mid-August, as the controversy over the Ground Zero mosque began to gain international attention, a leading Saudi journalist wrote two opinion articles opposing the project. Abdul Rahman Al-Rashid, then manager of the Saudi-owned, Dubai-based Al-Arabiyya satellite television network, first produced a column for the August 16 edition of the international Arab daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat [The Middle East], of which he is the former editor-in-chief.

In that first column, Al-Rashid cautioned, “I cannot imagine that Muslims want a mosque on this particular site, because it will be turned into an arena for promoters of hatred, and a symbol of those who committed the crime. At the same time, there are no practicing Muslims in the district who need a place of worship, because it is indeed a commercial district... The last thing Muslims want today is to build just a religious center out of defiance to the others... [T]he battle against the 11 September terrorists is a Muslim battle... and this battle still is ablaze in more than 20 Muslim countries. Some Muslims will consider that building a mosque on this site immortalizes and commemorates what was done by the terrorists who committed their crime in the name of Islam. I do not think that the majority of Muslims want to build a symbol or a worship place that tomorrow might become a place about which the terrorists and their Muslim followers boast.”

... It seems as if the jihaddis are winning the PR battle & but the street doesn't care.

Mark de LA says
Apparently jihadies riot & murder over the 1st & 2nd commandments of the Decalogue - ignoring the 6th commandment not to murder. I wonder why they consider a cartoon as likeness to their prophet (note - not a god).
I wonder why the hypocrisy of the M$M is so fond of bringing up & defending the first amendment on freedom of speech & the press for stuff like Wikileaks & yet ignores for the most part the latest Muslim threats to a cartoonist:
Daily Caller: ...
Yeah, isn’t that weird? Some dummy in Florida threatened to burn some books — not kill anybody, not even give anybody a bloody nose, but burn some books in a stupid, spiteful gesture — and it was a media firestorm for a whole week. Even the President of the United States felt the need to condemn it. But now we’ve got an American citizen who doesn’t feel safe in her own home because she drew a cartoon, and apparently all those same people are fine with it.

... note what the cartoons look like in the article.
