The Heart Chakra

Another lotus-flower (with twelve petals) is situated in the region of the heart. In earlier times, six petals only were visible. The acquisition of six virtues will, in times to come, develop the other six. These six virtues are: control of thought, power of initiative, balance of the faculties, optimism which enables a man always to see the positive side of things, freedom from prejudice, and finally, harmony in the life of soul. When these virtues have been acquired, the twelve petals begin to move. They express the sacred quality of the number twelve which we have in the twelve Apostles, the twelve knights of King Arthur, and again in all creation, in all action. Everything in the world develops according to twelve different aspects. (RS)

  1. Is this the source of empathy, sympathy & the Golden Rule?
  2. What were the virtues or powers associated with the original 6?
  3. Can we hasten the final 6 & move society & evolution ahead faster & avoid wars & tribulations?
  4. Can it be done through drama & art?

Perhaps one of those original faculties is gratitude & the ability to be thankful.

Well haven't read the RS piece yet, but i guess you are saying that the current 6 virtues are ...
  1. control of thought,
  2. power of initiative (will?),
  3. balance of the faculties (which ones?),
  4. optimism which enables a man always to see the positive side of things (love?),
  5. freedom from prejudice (?),
  6. and finally, harmony in the life of soul (how does this differ from 3?).
Did he indicate what the next 6 virtues will be, or are you trying to discern them here?
Actually, you have it backwards - these are the virtues we need to develop. He never mentioned what powers were gifted to us that I know of.  I am working on defining all of this in the Webbrain somewhere near the node P.2667. I will use this list as a touchstone. I would probably have to get hold of the original German if I wanted to know for sure what words he used. I can give you a zip of the brain which you can read with a temp release & appreciate more of what it can do including labeling & coloring nodes; searching on tags & labels, etc.

power of initiative
What is the indication that RS meant this word to be the stage of initiation rather than the common usage: " The ability to act first or on one's own" ?
The first time I saw the word initiative which also has the same root as initiation the thought connected.  I don't have the original German.  At this point I am using my intuition to pin as much as fits to the words used to describe the developing virtues.  I was doing this before I published & thought it might be worthwhile to share it here. I put my first ideas on the initiative thing as worthy of describing the petal in question.  I will refine it over the next course of days.

Why?  Can i not watch all of your progress at P.2667 ?
You can but the actual tool has much more interesting behavior than what you can see from the webbrain.  The webbrain can only be searched by a 3 character token. There is no such restriction in the tool itself.

With NLP we were able to move a feeling of fear about something like stage fright (probably felt in the larynx area & transform to a feeling of excitement by moving it to the groin area (another chakra).

What is fascinating to me is that while thoughts seem to organize fairly well when we are in there doing something with them, feelings seem to grab us & hold on until we think our way out of their cage, go numb or escape them somehow.
I think the operative phrase here is "doing something with them" ... because where deeds and thoughts are effective, they must needs be organized by the natural contingencies which obtain.  Emotions on the other hand, me thinks, tend to be more the rewards and have a more complex pattern of occurrence.  Perhaps would we we try to "do something with the emotions" they would seem to organize more.  just a thought.

I've noticed that when a lot of things start happening as predicted ... where the events of the day seem to flow easily ... where a certain synchronicity seems to pervade ... my mood changes ... i get HIGH ... and then almost everything seems colored with the same good feeling.  i'm not sure whether the mood precedes the synchronicity or the other way around.  Bad moods or "The Blahs" work the same only opposite.  Obviously when this happens, the signals are more about my internal state and not about external events.  I don't know if that has anything to do with RS's heart Chakra, but to me it seems at least to be in the same direction.

Here is a very interesting finding on the eLib I got while searching for the 5th chamber of the heart there. It describes the evolution of the etheric & astral hearts from the Anthroposophical & occult perspective.  Some GA references are provided.
