Now where was mark's item that originally called for this ?
Was it taglist ?

Client side uses this LiveSearch software see 1451

livesearch.js one modification as per install instructions

server side sql is easy:

tagSearch.php?q=x
SELECT * FROM taggings WHERE `tag` LIKE '%dd%'
where "dd" would have been the keystrokes typed in to the form see MySQL pattern matching

Ok, any ideas of how to deploy this ?

Well I would slide the tag list down to accommodate the words "search taglist" and the input box. As far as other browsers... I have Opera, but I would put a disclaimer at the start on Opera because the RTE fucks up seriously with Opera. Someday you might install Opera & see what the problem is. I did test the search & it did work on Opera.

Yep, would like to see search on tag, title, item, or comment. But this javascript is written to be very narrow. Maybe you can figure out how to pass more than one parameter to the server ... ie have multiple search boxes on the same page ... or even add a radio button input parameter.

... iow, we need to figure out how to pass more variables from the html page (tagSearch.html) to the javascript (livesearch.js) that in turn pass them along to the server script (tagSearch.php). I suppose i could duplicate the livesearch.js for each different box or option, but that is a bit guiggy, don't you think.
