I'll see your chile dogs & raise you one with my Holy Mole made a la Raechel Ray's beer poached chicken in mole sauce.

BTW, I was not aiming for color - I was aiming for mole.  We used it to entertain a couple of friends & T put the residue of the experience in a bowl rather than feed it to the dog. Once I saw it, it begged for a picture !  Later on, the dog refused to eat it.

I watched Rachael's video .... it looks good .  Did you even add the cocoa powder?  Did you hit the right color?
I followed the recipe as close as I could.  I forgot the salt which made quite a difference. I used Hershey's unsweetened cocoa. I left out the sesame seeds. I probably would have added more fat & run the food processor longer. The color looked like Rachael's.

Well is color important ?  Note the difference in color between my Fiesta Corn & Potato Chowder and Poor Girl's ...

Her's looks good, mine looks like gray goop ... but it tasted great.  I know why, i used mostly Adirondack Bluebecause that was all i had and it certainly dominated the color of the dish.  Denise, of course, didn't know or care ... one of the 100s of advantages of marrying a blind girl.   I added sausage that was not in Poor Girl's recipe ... that was Denise's idea and for us really made the dish.

Me, i don't have to beg for a picture of the leftovers competiting with the dog .  I just whip out my Kodak from my pocket and snap before i eat the original.  No longer a bit footprint in the experience ... yet an essential step in the awareness of the art.
