Accessibility Camp Seattle 2011

Brief Description:
Accessibility Camp Seattle is a dedicated to the simple premise that “digital inclusion” is fundamental to our digital age. Much as disability advocacy has transformed our physical world we now must look critically at how we are building the digital world so that it welcomes and empowers everyone. We will bring together the thinkers, the coders, the disabled, the students, the teachers, the visionaries, the pragmatists, the designers, the writers, the readers, the dreamers and you to actively engage on this critical topic.  Accessibility Camp Seattle is the first step towards designing the accessible future.

Goals (what we expect to happen):
  • Raising awareness of the importance of accessibility and “digital inclusion”
  • Education and investigation
  • Networking, collaboration and community
  • Experimentation and brainstorming
  • Helping setting the agenda for the ongoing global discussion

Potential Themes:
  • INCLUDE “every.one” 
  • No about us without us
  • “Open Access to the Digital World”
  • “All Access Pass” (play on the all access pass to concerts)

Everyone! Designers, Developers, Students, Educators, Disability Advocates, Writers, Futurists, Architects, Marketers, Researchers, Engineers, Users
