About: memetracker: tracking news phrases over the web (2008)

Political correctness, popular culture & memeing produces some phrases & words which I wish would disappear:
  1. level playing field
  2. it's not about
  3. on the backs of the poor
  4. moving forward
  5. rebuilding infrastructure
  6. at the end of the day

Actually, google news phrases yields enough to build a dictionary - worth a few hours of amusement.

... & the point?  In my list above the deframing phrase "it's not about" bugs me a lot. Whoever says that is trying to tell his audience that their concerns are invalid & that his are the real concerns.  In a nutshell #2 is just deframing or contradiction.  A second point is that without some form of consciousness these phrases act upon the listener as memes & hypnotic trance words which suspend critical evaluation of what the speaker/writer is saying.
