Obama apparently likes to bypass the Advice & Consent part of the U.S. Constitution on appointments.  I hope Congress defunds the unit.

The Stepping in Politics cartoon is truly funny ... ROFL ... and true .

The Election Strategy one is just disingenuous Obama Bashing  ... and only somebody who gets off on that kind of thing will be find it funny .

Sad Sack!

He signs a bill into law and states he intends NOT to follow it?  Time to think seriously about impeachment.
source: ... Obama’s most recent signing statement came on New Year’s Eve, when he autographed a 13-paragraph memorandum declaring he did not intend to follow several sections of the National Defense Authorization Act that funded the military for 2012. The president said his lawyers had concluded the provisions interfered with his constitutional duties to carry out foreign policy.
...
Let's see: we have signing statements, failure to seek advise & consent from the Congress on appointments & spending the country into bankruptcy so far & he has been in office only 2 years, 11 months & 16 days. Not only that, but there is collusion with Congress to deem bills not passed in the Senate (Obamacare) in order to bypass reconciliation.
FLUSH THEM ALL OR IMPEACH!

For ordinary citizens not part of the ruling class did it ever work to say "Everyone else is doing (or did) it?"
I wonder how big a movement we could get to flush them all?

& here is a cartoon which crisps some of this up:

My only question is why the president didn't  do it sooner.   Congress already passed the  law establishing a consumer protection agency, we are already spending money to man it; yet congress refuses to vote up or down on confirming it's head.  Instead they are obstructing the government.  Well the constitution says a president may make appointments when congress is in recess ... congress is in recess ... Kudos, Mr President, for finally doing your job.
The president doesn't always get his way in terms of appointments.  That is what the separation of the 3 branches & the Constitution is all about. I hope someone gets into office that abolishes the entire agency. What was the urgency that he couldn't wait? He's just a dictator who divides, not unites.
The sooner he is out of office the better!

I listened to a documentary about the new agency last night on NPR.  Apparently its powers may be limited to enforcing things like lenders telling borrowers  how much they are getting screwed before they proceed into the screwing.  But I wonder if it's main effect will be to add just another on of those forms to the stack you must sight to get a loan.   If that is the case, it will be pretty much a waste of time anyway.

The appointments I think are shit are the ones to the National Labor Relations Board which stacks the deck for Unions.  Remember when the board was trying to tell Boeing (in your neck of the woods) that they couldn't open a new plant in South Carolina (a right to work state)?  This is crony capitalism in it's ugliest aspect.  Add to that the other panderings to unions that Obama has done like trying to pass legislation which takes away the secret ballot for unionization and shortens the time it takes to unionize to a couple of weeks & it's not too far from communism. (see Bolsheviks in the Wikipedia). It will be interesting to find out who these people are.  Remember Obama appointed a self avowed communist as czar  to head his so-called green jobs program.

Here is an article which mentions the names of 3 appointed. Does that mean he can stack the board with no republicans? http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-01-04/obama-to-make-appointments-to-labor-board.html

... & just to underline the crony capitalism this administration is practicing:

Documents released in a classic Friday afternoon news dump show that labor unions representing 543,812 workers received waivers from President Barack Obama‘s signature legislation since June 17, 2011.

“[T]he CFPB won’t be a nice little regulatory agency. It will be powerful, hard-nosed, and unaccountable. It will decide its own budget without the obligation of asking Congress for money. It will have no governing board, only a director whose rulings can’t be vetoed. It will be almost impossible to challenge those rulings successfully in court.

“The bureau, created by the Dodd-Frank legislation that revamped regulation of the financial industry last year, is a favorite of President Obama. And, like his health care law, it perfectly reflects his view of how government should work: It gives enormous authority to unelected bureaucrats in Washington. Administration officials were reported to have high-fived when it became clear the bureau would be part of Dodd-Frank.

“Republican Spencer Bachus of Alabama, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and a sharp critic, says the bureau won’t be like an efficient private sector company (his examples are Costco, Amazon, and Southwest Airlines) but rather like Amtrak, the government-run passenger rail line. ‘If you like TSA at the airport,’ he adds, ‘you’ll love these guys.’”

... You Folks on the left won't like this shit if a Conservative government ends up in power in Novermber & starts rewriting the rules to suit themselves - ignoring the constitution.
Dodd-Frank & the CFPB is Government Intrusion via the Executive branch into economic freedoms of Americans no matter how much you hate banks & corporations.
Fuck'em
