Maher To Limbaugh: I Can Call Palin C**t, ‘I Don't Have Sponsors' & I don't watch him either. He's certainly NOT a liberarian even though he lies about being one.

I actually listened to the broadcast live & he was backing out of having called her a slut while making the case that she wants someone else to support her sexual escapades (buy her condoms or birth control). Naturally only the obamafish of contraception & slut ever made the M$M. I already explained why she was a phoney.

Strangely enough Bill OReilly did a talking points memo eloquently stating the valid points behind the Limbaugh snark sans the stupidity. I actually tend to agree with him, contraceptives should not be paid by insurance, but rather by individuals.
My only complaint with O'Reilly's memo is that it still did a switch of objects that served to confuse: "Sexual activity" is NOT "contraception". Those are different topics. Fluke's statements were about contraception and not about her sexual activities ... not once in her statement did she mention her sexual activities ... nor were they the topic of the hearing. When one pays for contraception, one is not paying for the sexual activity (period). That kind of malicious switching of objects is something that we need to weed out of our political thinking. And, yes, i know how one logically extrapolates from "contraception" to "sexual activity". But when we think about something we need to consistently keep our objects always point to the exact same thing, otherwise we can end up twisting things to whatever we want ... then our minds end up being just confused and mushy ... eh?

Well, to be precise ...

..... mush on, bro!

... My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous ...

Aren't jokes suppose to be funny? Did you laugh?

Can we draw any valid comparisons ...

I still don't understand what you are saying. Ron Paul suggested boycotts as a mechinism to fix accessibility problems for disabled people. You seem to be against boycotts for any reason. I'm not trying to argue, just trying to find out how you would solve particular accessibility problems without using boycotts or even having the ability to sue?
Incidentally this is not really a partisan issue between us. I watched the clip because i am still considering supporting Ron Paul because he has the most consistent message against warmongering and bloating governmental intrusion in our lives ... so i do believe we are on the same page here. But this disability thingy is a real problem for real people and i am in the middle of it in several aspects of my life.

On Saturday, Carbonite CEO David Friend released a statement on his company’s website declaring that Carbonite had decided to “withdraw” advertising from Rush Limbaugh’s radio show in the wake of his controversial remarks involving Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke because it will “ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse”:
Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse.
However, it hasn’t done much to contribute to his company’s stock price. Since the market opened on Monday through its close today, Carbonite stock (NASDAQ:CARB) has plummeted nearly 12 percent, outpacing the drop of the NASDAQ index in that same time period by nine-and-a-half points. It was also one of the biggest decliners on the NASDAQ on Tuesday.

Yes, it brings up the whole question of whether boycotts are an effective way to fix things in a free market ... or not. Watch Ron Paul on ADA.

I don't know where (or even if) ADA is inadequate. This came up this morning because of one of my disabled friends on facebook linded to the Ron Paul clip with the following comment ...
I was a strong supporter for Ron Paul until I saw this video. I do understand what he is saying, but the laws were passed to protect the disabled, because we kept getting discriminated against. I shouldn't have to deal with the degrading and humiliating treatment, and harassment, just because we are disabled and/or use a service animal. We have a right to enjoy the same things everyone else takes for granted. I do hate government interference, but sometimes, its the government is the only thing that can help guarantee that right to equal treatment. As for the disabled parking issue, those parking places were put there to make sure a disabled person has the same access opportunities to the building. I am sorry my rights for equal access, trumps your laziness!

...
The real problem is that some people want to force fit themselves into situations & force others to accept them.
Personally i don't know any disabled people who want "to force fit themselves into a situation & force others to accept them" ... but there are many attitudes out there so doubtlessly that one exists too. But my own experience with the disabeled is that they just want access to the same stuff that everybody else has access to, and that they are quite aware that it is their responsibility to adapt. But let's face it, it is hard being disabled ... in a wheel chair ... blind ... deaf ... whatever. Try it some day and see just how hard it is. What's more try doing something useful or interesting in the world while you are disabled. I think a enlightened society should bend over backward to provide what assistance it can. No, Mark, you have not identified the real problem.
RP says in the video use the power of the purse & don't go back to any establishment which doesn't want your business.
He was sorta neutral on the boycott thingy - boycott or not. I think he's for selective spending. The only thing you are going to do with more ADA law is strangle small business & maybe some larger businesses. Some places are simply inappropriate for guide dogs (try a hall of mirrors in a carnival). Some places are inappropriate for deaf-mutes (flight school).

PSsst - by the time any lawsuits against the perps come to trial the damage has already been done & the M$M (Main Slut Media) has magnified the damage 100X.

Observers say the local bishops' focus on Komen and other social issues reflects a larger conservative shift within the American church since New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan became chairman of the Conference in November 2010.
Under Dolan's leadership, the conference last year set up a new ad hoc committee on religious liberty to oppose government policies that conflict with church teachings on abortion, contraception and gay marriage.

"Abortion & it's weak sister contraception are naturally the sacrament of the Liberal left." ... is certainly extreme propaganda speak. Have fun with that.
Are you, Mark Russell, opposed to contraception? I sure hope not. Planned parenthood is an organization that really does help women out with contraception. Are you, Mark Russell, voting to curtail federal funding of that organization?
But please respect that my interest in this article was just to become aware of who is fighting whom ... what ideas in the culture are coming to a clash. It is not like i am joining the fight one one side.
