You folks fail to detect the logical object in the first place.

Rush: ... And that's why they wanted to change the subject from whether or not he behaved unconstitutionally in mandating churches give away abortion pills (or birth control pills), to: "Republicans don't agree with contraception!" It's totally made up. There's not a Republican out there that wants to ban contraception. There's not a Republican in the world that, as a political issue, wants anything to do with it. It's totally manufactured, and it's succeeded in distracting everybody's attention from what Obama had done, and it's meant to portray the Republicans as Neanderthal troglodytes while the party of Bill Clinton (who's destroyed Monica Lewinsky's life among others) is held up as God's gift to women! Everything's 180 degrees out of phase.

It would be interesting to figure out how to keep all the references straight . On the issues you pose ...

In my opinion, contraception is cheep enough that it does not need to be covered in a mandated policy. But that issue was already decided and contraception will now be covered in the affordable health care bill. The question then is whether Catholics get a pass on that because of their religious beliefs. Personally i don't think that the whole mechanism of insurance is workable if it becomes a patch-work of faith based exemptions. So if you accept that contraception needs to be covered in a mandated policy, then the only question is whether faith based exemptions can be practically granted and the policy still work? And what is the rational for drawing the line between beliefs that exclude coverage, and those which do not?
Many republicans have gone on record for allowing contraception and i don't know of a place where they have advocated to ban it. Sanatorium has spoken out about the evils of contraception, but even he has said that he would not ban them. Still and all many republicans have been advocating to de-fund Planned Parenthood which is the primary supplier of contraception for low income.
Any unrelated torts that Obama or Clinton have done have no bearing on 1 or 2 above. Obviously each side tries to frame the debate to focus it on the weakness of their opponents. I see no use in analyzing that whenever it happens.

I write this kind of analysis, not to argue about things, but for the purpose of learning how to align my own rhetoric with reality. Hopefully i have identified the valid issues which M has brought up, have written true sentences, and have not switched any references. If you know of any valid corrections, please put them in a comment and i will adjust the body of the item accordingly. Unrelated propaganda will be deleted without notice.
