Well I wrote that before I went to Chico.  On the way I listened to Rush & he has a much more interesting take on the show here:
source: ...

Last night's episode was about the BP oil spill. Aaron Sorkin is a squirrelly liberal. He's a miserably unhappy liberal, and he's written a show here that's essentially... Have you ever been in an argument with somebody and when it's over, you think about all the things you shoulda said, all the things you coulda said but didn't think of at the time? That's what this show is. Go back, take the BP oil spill, and do a newscast of what you shoulda done as a liberal when it happened instead of what did happen. As a means of rewriting history for your delusional liberal audience.

And that's what I thought when I'm watching this thing last night. "This is amazing. They're going back; they're doing the BP oil spill." They're creaming Halliburton in this show last night, for bad concrete. They're creaming BP, which they did anyway. They're creaming everybody. They're throwing every liberal cliche you can imagine into this. Global warming, economic destruction, global climate destruction. But not as it actually happened, but it would have happened if Sorkin had been running a news network at the time, if liberals had been true to themselves.

The Newsroom is Aaron Sorkin's sad attempt to win an argument by rewriting history, coming up with all the comebacks his side couldn't think of two years ago.
... a liberal rewrite of history where liberals win all the arguments, eh? I wonder if Obama looses re-election that in some future episode he will win it because of ATN's brilliance or something.

I still like Saturday Night Live Weekend Update w/ Seth Meyers.  At least you know up front it is all bullshit intended for a laugh.

Funny, I used to enjoy the West Wing even though I could tell where it lapsed over into some political spin infrequently. I knew it was fiction. This one is too close to an election to trap innocence of the coming election into its raison d'etre.
I especially liked Mary Louise-Parkerwho went on to do Weeds.
Yeah Mary Louise is sexy indeed ... my favorite too.   I suspect that they will tap stories from both  sides of the aisle, the Hollywood liberal bias meme is mostly just a fiction written by those who got bitten in the ass.

How about a theme where the Obama haters prevail, Romney wins, and the nation goes into a deep deep depression.   The financial sector evaporates.  Then with personal freedom the only thing left an entirely new economy emerges.  Obama ends up selling grapefruits and doing yoga and writes the definitive great American novel.

That one might work. At least we would know it was fiction.  George Clooney raises 10 million $$$ for Obama and the liberal bias is fiction? How many Hollywood types even admit to being conservative or raise such sums for the conservative side?  Ronald Reagan started out as a democrat & worked his way up to being the conservative icon, eh!

It is interesting that the many people confused the NBC series the West Wing with real life & some even were confused in thinking that Martin Sheen was really president. It is not likely that I will watch the series until either Martin Sheen becomes the real president or Bill Maher becomes a  real comedian & leaves HBO voluntarily or otherwise. That being said, I suspect that the Hollywood types are coming out with this series in order to mock FOX news just around election time.  What a surprise! I'll bet that at least a good many lefties will believe that FOX news is alive and doing a new series on HBO. I got this latter by your five thumbs up & the first minute of watching the link you posted.  If you think this is the real news instead of the fake news you should also watch the Saturday Night Live - Weekend Updates also on on NBC - the network that edits the news to make gotchas more exciting.
If I am in error please tell me how you view the program.

Well this series is modeled after CNN ... not Fox.  I won't bother disabusing you of the rest of your notions ... you deserve your own delusions which are funny enough on their own right.   Perhaps you could write a screen play of what you imagine the plot to be and send it to NBC.

I can't get denise to shell out the big bucks for HBO ... so, unless i can find the episodes on the net like this one, i will have to wait for them to appear on Netflex.

See, that's what i'm talking about.  I enjoyed the show, not because of any partisan historical hind sight "rewrite", but because of the drama of the personalities and how they interacted in a newsroom situation.  Apparently neither you or Limbaugh could experience that end of it just because you were too busy emoting about you side of the politics.  This is fiction, but ... ever wonder how much of reality you miss too?
Lets write a fictional series about how Obama stumbles into a rally which turns into a French Revolution style of guillotining & the country rights itself & moves on into a year of prosperity.  Good theme, eh?
