Why I Disrespect the UN

About: when the un wants to negotiate a global arms control deal, it turns to ... iran | fox news

The US should reduce funding for the UN & do humanitarian work unrelated to UN bureaucracy & corruption. They can't even get it together to enforce their creation of the state of Israel & let a terrorist country into the arms control negotiations.

Here is another article that supports my disgust & mockery of the United Nations:
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/08/08/sudan-election-to-un-human-rights-council-all-but-certain-watchdog-says/
ibid: ...

The election of a Sudanese warlord accused of genocide to the United Nations Human Rights Council is now virtually guaranteed, since he has the full backing of the world body's African delegation.

The International Criminal Court has issued a warrant for Omar Al-Bashir -- its first ever for a sitting head of state -- for crimes against humanity he allegedly committed in Darfur. Yet, his regime is set to take its place on the panel, in the latest bizarre appointment to make a mockery of the UN's human rights credibility, according to critics.

It's like putting “Jack the Ripper in charge of a women’s shelter,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch.

...  ever feel a story like that is only half a truth ... maybe parts that are said are accurate ... but if they were put with the parts that are not said, a totally different story would be told.

I ran into a thing like that on foxnews this morning.  They told me a story about the whole Romney welfair ad thing ... i knew enough about it to understand where most of the foxnews commentator's  sentences were actually true ... but it was the ones they chose not to say that would have told a whole different story.

Try to read that not as a partisan comment or even a comment about foxnews ... could have been written about MSMBC too ... could have been said about a defense lawyer's summation ... or about the prosecutions.  Same facts to choose from ... different facts and tone chosen ... whole different story told.  Which one does one emote about?

You should have been a defense lawyer your main purpose seems to cast doubts & confusion.  My question to you is very simple: Is a Sudanese war lord accused of genocide within a UN group just about to be elected to the Human Rights council.  Your doubts & slant on other news organizations have no relevance.

actually quite the opposite ... sure one side is very clear when you always look form the same side ... but try binacular vision and it will change to totally confused wen the other side comes into view.

Let me give you an example of how something came to me.  I kept being approached by activist at local fairs and markets lobbying to keep the library over the Cedar ... sounded clear to me as presented.  But something kept knawing at me ... i wasn't clear ... so i wanted to see why anyone would want to move it.  Easy actually to gogle around and find out.  The city council had an agenda to renovate the downtown area ... they were handed this money from the county ... so they were trying to kill two birds with one stone.  Made sense ... they neglected to factor in that the new building would be half the space and that the beautiful old building would be lost and would sit empty till the funding for some other unstated use was found.  So then when  i saw both sides ... the decision was clear.  If i went with just on side i might have been overlooking something critical.  There is nothing wrong or confusing or stupid or liberal about looking at both sides of an issue before you decide ... don't bother twisting or mocking me on that.

Now look how this item came to you ... you tell me right there in the topic:  "Why I Disrespect the UN" ... so you heard this example right there on foxnews ... served up to you to justify your own disrespect.  But you don't seem to question that fornews gives you the whole story, do you?  Look they are probably right here ... sounds straight forward ... but will you really know if you don't actually find the other side of the story?
Impuning FoxNews is knee-jerk for you, but it sways nothing in your direction .  I disrespect UN because it has a long history of being pretentious & hypocritical & impotent.  Iran on the Human Rights council not too long ago.

Sop what's the other side of the US going after the African war lord Kony with predators?

show me the other side of the story and i will surly try to answer your question.  with just one side presented, the question is absurd ... it would be  just about you

[hold the you-go-find-it-yourself crap]  you brought up the topic.
Because you seem to like to argue, oppose & miss-match I suggest because you seem think there is another side - go get if your fucking self.   I don't need to get all points of view to make a statement or raise an issue or even make a judgement.  I think you are just blowing it out your ass!

Foxnews is no better or worse than any other biased source ... as i actually stated above ... this was not about foxnews ... it was about knowing both sides of the story.  You failed the challenge again.  I'm not surprised .... hmm, need a icon for that ... could have shortened my commentary.
Apparently you are demonstrating a remarkable infection of ADHD or the lack of ability to stay on topic - "this is not about ..." etc. is a typical political phrase used perpetually to change the subject when the user has nothing, enjoy!  Bad assumption on bias proves nothing & is useless. There is no challenge - I'm not your link monkey. Just repeating an old addage "there are always two sides to a story" is not useful & mostly worthless unless you provide a different one.
Here is my suggestion for your icon:

Talking about talking & arguing about arguing is one of my least interests. Trying to get to the heart of any matter & coming up with real solutions & ways out of stuck thinking of stuck people is more my alignment. My usual efforts here are more chronological than all in one piece & you , dear bro, provide the counter picture most of the time, nicely!
I usually raise the spectre of the RWG when an impasse shows up or too much ad hominem material shows up in the conversation.
In an 16116 implementation you can count on points of view surfacing of opposing sides & that is a good thing ... I do want them all, but not just the primary polarity.

Well i just wanted to make the point that you almost never present both sides of a story ... and that, especially of late, those kind of items feel totally incomplete to me.  It is meta information about me ... just take it as a FYI ...  it was not in the pane of any partisanship or RWG.

There really should be some kind of protocol where we can make that kind of meta comment about the media of the conversation itself and it be clearly understood that it is not to be taken as RWG or partisan.  It is on a different plane.  There actually are mechanism in formal logic where meta statements about statements are logically separated from the propositions underneath them.  If you are at all interested, i'll look that up and present it ... it's actually kind of interesting.

Actually the research involved, thanks to Wikipedia, was trivial ... you can get a good introduction of it in this article: Metalogic
