About: rep. cleaver: romney shouldn’t criticize obama in front of a black audience | twitchy

I don't care about the booing that was almost predictable.  I like the apparent twitter feed about the race card logic which has always bugged me.  The fundamental assumption that only blacks are qualified in black affairs etc. IS RACIST! .... it ignores the FACT that HUMANS are involved & qualify at the HUMAN LEVEL! ... see 714 for the fundamentals.
~~~
@secupp
Cleaver just said Romney should not have criticized Obama in front of black audience.
@michellemalkin @secupp so according to Cleaver we are supposed to
adjust our message based on the color of the audience?
Nothing racist about that. No siree.
Well for me this was not about race, it was about a politician's insensitivity to the audience to which he was speaking.   So it almost becomes an insult for him to pander to his base in front of an audience who had invited him to address their concerns.  Then he goes up to Montana and insults them with what he really though ... "remind them of this, if they want more stuff from government tell them to go vote for the other guy-more free stuff".  Trust me he didn't glean any votes from the NAACP audience ... but he might have gotten some in Montana.
Yeah! I would like to see Obama address a Tea Party if he had the guts!
Here is a good illustration of my reaction
I actually doubt that Obama would stand in front of a Tea Party and address them ... just because it would be a contradiction ... the same contradiction as apparently Mitt decided to ignore.
Of course Obama, taking NAACP for granted didn't bother to appear but phoned it in instead:
Your assumption is that all blacks think alike which is racist & the point uncovered in this item. Romney determined to deliver his message to ALL the people not just his own choir. Identity politics is unbecoming for someone who wants to be president for ALL the people. Like I said in the title We Hoped It Would Change & yet it is getting worse.
I don't think most Americans believe the race card anymore when it is played these days. I think only those who play it believe it. They must in desperation think of it as a trump card that will excuse incompetence or side-track rational criticism.
Lots of Luck ye who have no more cards to play. The Joker is YOU! AND we who are not racists are laughing at you!
To understand you I found it instructive to translate this sentence from propaganda-speak to English.
I don't think most Americans believe allegations of racists remarks are valid anymore.
... hmmm ... might that be because there are less racists remarks and less allegations of same?  Seems to me that is a good thing ... race is becoming less important.
You folks missed all the bull-shit about the NAACP & representatives for the House Black caucus:
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/182209-cbc-chairman-if-obama-wasnt-in-office-we-would-be-marching-on-white-house ... The left still trots the cards out for election campaigns in the hope to solidify one of their base identity groups.   Talk to the M$M who hyperventillate every accusation & highlight every card played. I wonder what would happen if someone in the U.S. Congress trotted out a Congressional White Caucus, don't you? Nice exercise, Dude, in spinning my own words back to me.  The race card trump value is less than it used to be because it is worn out! ... (like crying wolf).
Yep, Harry Reid said something racist ... your criticized him for it ... so you played the "race card".   Or is that only used why a conservative like Limbabugh says something racist and a liberal calls him out  .  And what about me ... what does someone calling out somebody for playing the race card do? ... play the joker?   ... and you ... what are you going to do ... justify your race card ... mock me for for noticing.   Then what ... must i respond ... so you don't think you won?
You probably should up your dosage on your meds to keep focused. Harry Reid was the racist. Everything after that is schizophrenia or OCD - take your pick. The Limbaugh thing is paranoia & the rest is jibberish. Maybe tripple the meds & call your shrink in the morning.
Well, who could have seen this coming?
As Twitchy reported Thursday, liberals declared war on ”Saturday Night Live” alum Jon Lovitz after he took issue with President Obama’s demeaning contempt for American entrepreneurs. As a business owner, Lovitz was appalled when the president he voted for told Americans, “If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”
Apparently the Left’s assault included … wait for it … accusations of racism. The race card: libs never leave home without it.
You’d think Lovitz had committed a grave offense like using the phrase “you people.”
The comedian called out his fellow liberals, noting that it’s the Left that reduces the president to nothing more than the color of his skin.
i look at the race card game as wave phenomena ... each new crest commenting on the previous.  Thorp's niggerazion was a biggie ... but it was 3 waves out from the source ...  the event probably wouldn't have propagated very far without his pointed amplification.   The first reaction twisting to race ... is where this particular kind of wave starts ... i identified it correctly.  Biden's original comment was about wall street regulations ... not race ... his "twisted reference" created the trough that Romney jumped into to play it into a race card.  Can you count the waves to this comment?
Biden knew what he was doing. Your SPIN rejected!   What was before that in your twisted scenario?
(1) Biden source: "Romney wanting to unshakel wall street ---> put you back in chains".  (2) Romney team:  interprets "you" to be black people ... plays the first race card.  (3) Thore says they are niggerizing (4) mark calls Thore playing race card (5) seth points out mark's race card play (6) mark rejects (7) seth explains like a fool keeping the wave play going (8) ... yada yada yada ...
Nope.   I have used the card here exactly like you use it ... i learned how to do it from you and Rush.  Somebody makes a statement, then the other side interprets it as about race and become outraged, then you comment on their outrage and call them playing the race card.  Strange that you didn't recognize your own behavior.
the more sensitive the environment ... the more pointed the comment ... the bigger the wave ... and  the faster it moves.  Making it a lie will dig a deeper trough ... those get a lot of attention.  Just saying the plane truth, apparently, does not work as well for these purposes.  Secondary repetitive jibes become boring very fast and represent the wave dying out ... usually they are ignored.  You would need fresh source from the other side to make the emotions and  bits fly further.
Non-specific gobbledegook will not get any further than the original bullshit. Here's one for you:
Labels are intended to slander & impune, for example Dude could be labeled as a cock-sucker & then the question asked: Is Dude still a cock-sucker, when did he quit sucking cock?  All the newspapers & talking heads will surely validate without thinking in robot style "That's a valid question: Is Dude still sucking cock?  Where is the evidence of all his life for the last 20 or so years that he didn't suck & still doesn't suck cock? .... Collapsing further Dude in addition to sucking cock is probably an asshole so collapsing in style there is Dude = cock-sucker = asshole collapsed up in one neat package. Of course we want it all to show up in multi-media grand style with videos & lots of flashing labels along the way.
Here is how a meme works in your imaginary-real World
Mark de LA says
Charles Rangel: ... “The Vice President said he’s going to put “y’all in chains,” Mr. Rangel told The Perez Notes in a recent free-wheeling interview. “Was he talking about slavery? "Democrats are so afraid of Mia Love’s candidacy that they are willing to stoop to these shameful and troubling tactics," Lindsay said. "What’s even more troubling is the lack of outrage from  Jim Matheson and his friends on the left.”
This wouldn't be the first time Democrats have drawn attention to a minority Republican's race. In 2003, when Bobby Jindal was first running for governor of Louisiana against Democrat Kathleen Blanco, Blanco's campaign ran an ad that many deemed racist. John J. Miller reported in 2007:
Four years ago, a last-minute television commercial for Blanco flashed a controversial picture of Jindal and warned, “Wake up Louisiana! Before it’s too late!” The ad outraged Republicans. “They showed Bobby to be darker than he really is, with his hair messed up even though his hair is never messed up — they made him look like Don King,” says McCrery. “It was a racist ad.” When the votes were counted, Jindal lost in part because he underperformed among white voters in the northern part of the state, where Republicans traditionally have done well.
And last month, a Democratic ad portrayed freshman Republican House member Allen West of Florida, who is black, cartoonishly punching a white woman.
... Rather than a post-racial presidency we have an in your face racist one. There are a lot of M$M pictures of the president in all shades.
There are actually several paradoxes which separate the liberal/conservative otherness.
  • tolerance vs intolerance: the right pisses on tolerance and the left embraces it.
  • representation vs identity-politics: the right is trying to imply that representing any group (except white men ) is a bad thing, the left does it.
  • minimal government vs big government: the right wants to limit government's control of our lives,  the left not so very much when it comes to taxes but where it comes to human rights (reproductive and sexual preferences) they insist upon less government control.
  • ...
ALL of these being not paradoxes, but LIES - what else have you got in your brainpan?
That's bizarre: (lets try again as a quote):
source: ...
As a whole, the nation's minority population continues to rise, following a higher-than-expected Hispanic count in the 2010 census. Minorities increased 1.9 percent to 114.1 million, or 36.6 percent of the total U.S. population, lifted by prior waves of immigration that brought in young families and boosted the number of Hispanic women in their prime childbearing years.
The numbers also serve as a guide to where taxpayer dollars could be going in the coming decades. With minority populations growing faster than white populations, robust minority population centers are sure to increase in electoral heft in the coming decades.
Minorities now surpass whites in US births, census shows
... this is true.
It's interesting to note that some people also include women, gays, lesbians, trans-genered, and disabled persons in so called "minorities" ... in which case white men have been in the minority for a long time.  There are some interesting demographics of the recent election published here.
Why publish that which was already in my source for the quote.  Note that is in births not the whole population.  There are more women than men how is that a minority thingy?    You seem to be reaching for something.  Gays (LGTB) are both black & white as are women.  The racist part of the Newsweak article still applies.  Santa Clause apparently gives to all people regardless of race!
Your days are done, GOP white man. In its November issue, Newsweek and writer David Frum want you to know that you’re old, you’re white, and you’re finished
before emoting over the image and headline ... it might be interesting to grock the truth of the article itself ... strange i'm finding it difficult to find the original article.   Though i have read it's gist several places already on the net ...
Fact is that the demography and hence the democratic control of our country is changing.  It used to be promarially white men ... now it is not.  This election proved that in no uncertain terms.   Whether you like it or not, whatever you ego screams to you, i think that is the truth of the matter ... and it is a truth that the GOP must needs reconcile its policies and platform if it is ever to win the presidency.   That is the truth that i see ... is your different?
Probably not because I am not primarily (note the spelling) a racist!  With illegal aliens, pandering to the Chinese, openness to the Muslims all over the World & uncontrolled borders,  I suspect that the demography will change until we no longer represent the land of opportunity. I read somewhere that whites were to become a minority soon. The strange thingy is that minorities are only ~36.6 % so far. Pandering on the left will continue to be 100%.  Those on the left prefer that the right pander too because the left is much better at it & the right would then no longer be able to claim the high road.  Too bad! Not happening!  Romney didn't loose because of demographics.  He lost mostly (imho) because bunches of his constituents stayed home, perhaps protesting his move to the left & failure to engage Obama's entirely attack campaign. These could have been the Libertarians & Ron Paul minded, Tea partiers, etc. Romney was the most liberal Republican running in recent years for president.
... but a unbiased reading of the actual demographics may well find that Romney did loose because of demographics.  Also, i doubt that the number of Tea Party Libertarians who didn't vote for either Obama or Romney, significantly influenced the final result.  Now i may be wrong, but sans an objective examination of actual facts, i am not willing to believe your statements.
It does seem to be a fact that Obama's get the vote out was very effective whereas Romney's was a shambles (references can be provided if you have not already encountered them).
Ask yourself why you prefer to believe that demographics is not one of the primary deciding factors?
Because I hope that pandering to identity politics is not the sole motivator for now & as far into the future as I can see.  Maybe some principles & non Bread & Circuses (see pic.) influences will show up in the near future but, I'm not holding my breath.
