... & here is an extreme view which, if digested, should spawn a bit of self-censorship if not a lot of selective spending & maybe better things to focus your eyeballs upon; or maybe not.

Guns don't kill people, movies don't kill people, people kill people. Crazy people do crazy shit!

& of course it has a racist component, eh?
source: ... MSNBC's Toure is at it again. This time he has turned the tragedy in Colorado into, you guessed it, a debate about race. Toure accused supporters of the Second Amendment of wanting to ensure "white people" had access to guns while keeping "black criminals" from getting them. He also invoked the Trayvon Martin situation, which has nothing to do with what happened in Colorado last Friday

... hold still and zoom in on the little brown starfish - you people who are racist.

"Guns don't kill people, people kill people" is just a cutsie linguistic phrase ... a NRA propaganda meme ... it holds no logical sway in my mind ... nor should it affect our thinking.

if we are to presume to be free, sure *people* must be held responsible for their own actions ... that is, after all, the basis of our justice system.  Yet there is no doubt that the things in our culture affect our behavior ... and when you look at an entire population you might even say that the things in its culture control that behavior.  Prohibiting the easy procurement of assault rifles will probably eliminate some of this violence.  Yes i know the NRA will dispute that.

What we need to decide is where we draw the line between civilization and personal freedom.  I think that is a pendulum that swings back and forth as history progresses.   I don't like the idea of always having to side one way or the other.  I like that decision to be made within the context of a time and place ... not decreed,  as if on high,  from some imagined principal.
I hold your comment as just cutsie linguistic wishy-washiness supporting leftist propaganda to take the guns out of the hands of the people. It holds no sway at all in my mind nor should it in anybody else's. It is the government that fears guns in the hands of the people. Law abiding citizens don't fear other law abiding citizens having guns. I would rather there be a groundswell of selective spending to other movies besides the hyped violence in Batman.

Nobody has answered where all the fast & furious guns, gun-runned by the Obama administration, ended up.  BUT:
