done  ... and yes IE is getting pretty slow  ... err  .. i suppose we could adapt by choosing the more popular emotlets and wait till we get a popup pallet ... or just tell people to use FF ... or maybe get the some help and time to work on nifty pop up javascripts that always take a long time to get to work in all browsers
incidentally i am seriously considering lopping style and font and prolly justify ... do we really need these ?

clicking on the related tags is now, me thinks, a great way to forage  ... u should try it more often
incidentally i think the Google spell checker is super  it seems to yield more pertinant choices than most checkers i have used

How does the style work? The font you are using now works fine I dont see a need to keep changing the font. I do like the italic,bold and color choice

My solution to the slow loading is FF.  Under IE I can't point at an icon or picture and capture the URL, under FF I can. I would probly if I lost most of the emotlets especially the which are my favorites.

Style I don't use much unless I want to SHOUT at the .  I like the font and color etc. The one with justification so that the text looks like a book doesn't seem to work for me.

might be easier to lop it than expain it.  And i totally agree ... we don't need no stinking fonts.  this might be a case where more choices just goofs up the overall simplicity and but we will definitely keep

i think you misunderstoon.  i listed the things that i propose to keep.  Most of them !

now let me make the list of the things i propose to eliminate
  • everything under the drow down box that shows as [style]
  • everything under the drow down box that shows as [font]
  • right justify (this is really questionable, if somebody wants it i would keep it)
  • book justify (nobody uses this and it has problems)
  • horizontal rule _____ (this also does not work)

The most often one I use is verdana because it colors nicely in bold . Ariel is too close to what it is on this side. I agree that the other two are boring. Some of the fonts are not available on Linux. Tina has thousands, but how to exchange them is something else. Doesn't your other Blog have a bunch ?

I think you mean horizontal scroll bars, but I am on a Mac and we don’t have scroll bars. I think there is a setting in the RTE for that. I will check into it when I have a windows machine around. Right now everyone here uses Macs.

Works fine. I have put <hr>’s in several of my posts. Maybe your monitor doesn’t show them either?

The css for the <hr> comes with Bootstrap and is set in concert with all the styles. It looks very good here. I don’t think it is wise to fiddle with the carefully designed styles that came with the Bootstrap package just to accommodate out of date monitors. There must be many modern sites you don’t see the subtitles of … just add this one to the list as long as you have that monitor.

Maybe you are using the wrong color profile for that monitor. Even windows has color profiles for monitors. Sounds like yours is set for a different monitor type.

i have a need for a horizontal line that would force new pictures below it … that way i can control the vertical space of my picture presentation on a page.   in fbi-1.0 i would just put in a whole bunch of separators like this ____________________________________________________________________________________________________

then i could compose beneath that line and know that my pictures would not right justify and look messy pretty much regardless of the screen width.

unfortunately <hr> does not do that now in fbi-2.0 …. is there any way to make it do that?

Actually that might be okay. What you are talking about is called a clearfix. It’s what makes floated images stay above something else. I don’t see a problem with putting a clearfix on <hr>’s since they are intended to be block elements.

The <hr> does disappear here on the root comment background color, because they are the same color. But that’s our fault, not the <hr>’s

I use a separator mostly ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I just thought it might be nice, but evey time I have tried in fbi1 & fbi2 it is invisible or so small that I go back to underlines or ~~~~~~
it’s underline ...frequently i use periods too…..   but i sure would prefer a <hr> that clearfixes instead.
