Arrogant King?

About: obama urges action on debt ceiling during vacation « cbs dc

We have three equal branches of government: executive, legislative (Congress) & the judiciary.  Obama on his multi-million dollar vacation pretends to tell Congress where to set the limits on spending so that his continued junket through the presidency at the expense of future generations & a recessionary economy won't get halted any time soon before he leaves the presidency & the country in ruins.
It's about time that he quits blaming Congress , which gave him everything he asked for, or anyone else, for the astronomical debts incurred & rolls the junket back to the same level as we the people have to put up with.
It is about time Congress told Him how much he can spend & what His limits are & stick to it!

It's about time we quit electing people who can't balance a budget except on the backs of future generations.

CBS (DC): ...

Obama, speaking from Hawaii, where he is on vacation with his family, said he is willing to consider more spending cuts and tax increases to reduce the deficit.

But he said he will not compromise over his insistence that Congress lift the debt ceiling. The nation’s credit rating was downgraded the last time lawmakers threatened inaction on the debt ceiling, in 2011.

Some want him to become king: - at least not term limited as he is now to 8 years.
The problem is not the power of the president nor the congress but that they write their own rules & then break them.
There needs to be a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
In a government by rule of law things like signing statements would not be valid.  Read Article I of the U.S. Constitution.  If the president disagrees with a bill passed by both houses he sends it back to the house it originates in & the congress must then pass it by a 2/3 majority.  There is no executive override that can trump the law so that it doesn't get enforced.

The Commander-in-Hypocrisy:

Despite launching a gun control agenda that threatens to disarm the American people, President Obama has signed a bill that would afford him armed Secret Service protection for life.

“The legislation, crafted by Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, rolls back a mid-1990s law that imposed a 10-year limit on Secret Service protection for former presidents. Bush would have been the first former commander in chief affected,” reports Yahoo News.

The new bill, which will cost American taxpayers millions of dollars, is a re-instatement of a 1965 law which will see presidents protected for life as well as their children up to age 16.

...Who needs guns if you have your own squad of body guards for life?

In another part of town the attorney general wants to continue indefinitely to hide behind secrets on the fast & furious gun-running debacle:

Attorney General Eric Holder and his Department of Justice have asked a federal court to indefinitely delay a lawsuit brought by watchdog group Judicial Watch. The lawsuit seeks the enforcement of open records requests relating to Operation Fast and Furious, as required by law.

Judicial Watch had filed, on June 22, 2012, a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking all documents relating to Operation Fast and Furious and “specifically [a]ll records subject to the claim of executive privilege invoked by President Barack Obama on or about June 20, 2012.”

The administration has refused to comply with Judicial Watch’s FOIA request, and in mid-September the group filed a lawsuit challenging Holder’s denial. That lawsuit remains ongoing but within the past week President Barack Obama’s administration filed what’s called a “motion to stay” the suit. Such a motion is something that if granted would delay the lawsuit indefinitely.
