very funny sketch ... but i liked it to end .

I also tend to agree that the zimmerman saga should not have been about race juice ... and i am pleased that it was not so in the trial.   There are many today who are twisting it in that direction.   I don't even really want to talk about that ... woopse ...
Maybe you should have wondered harder why the media called GZ a white-hispanic, etc.  THere was no good reason why the trial was ever started without the gangs in government & the race industry juicing it up.

Mark de LA says
Perhaps a silly question, but what does anyone suppose it might be like if all the juice were to go away in racism?

Mark de LA says
Apparently lots of juice still left in zimmerman
Family rescued by Zimmerman cancels news conference, fears 'blowback' Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/07/25/couple-cancels-news-conference-about-zimmerman/#ixzz2a4DMz7gA: ... "The same people who refuse to accept the jury's verdict, just want to be angry, just want to hate George Zimmerman, are still going to," O'Mara said. good question ... i think if the juce were to go away, there simply would be no racism.

... then too, if people calling others racist would suddenly loose interest that would help the juice to go away ... and if people calling those people out would turn their attention elsewhere, maybe we wouldn't even be here talking about it again.

attention is a real bitch ... is it not
Is your edgy comment, Seth, intended to be a help or is it just more of the same old juice?

One has to imagine what it would be like as a beginning.  Asking questions puts you in that state. That's basic Tony Robbins 1A.  Some would say "just do it" but I suspect that nobody actually does "just do it" - what?   Anyway, I would not like to run around doing things like a robot would i.e.  if I bump into something mark that thing in my imaginary coordinates & flip a coin & go in another direction until I bump into something else.  Try repeat!

yep, as predicted.  why are you still interested?
The problem of racism hasn't petered out yet, maybe?
The news is still bi-assed in fear of the race card, maybe?
Just because you sweep something under the rug doesn't solve anything, maybe?
The current administration is out trying to sweep all scandals under the rug, maybe?
...
Personally, I have to face something full on & then go for a future which I want instead to make what I call progress - your mileage may vary, maybe?

BTW, imho, it petered out because the polls seemed to be in favor of the verdict except in the racist community, maybe?

asking questions, as you have here, is great .

i don't think the urge to "just do it" is the same thing as doing things randomly like a robot.  i think that urge is used when we already have grocked everything about a situation and know in our being what our deeds about it want to be.  then, instead of bowing to the evil of lethargy or excessive rationalization or quibble, we simply summon courage and "just do it".

BTW, I wonder how long the story of the US Civil War & slavery will be kept as a story justifying the race card - 1861 - 1865  (for context see 16667) ....
152 years & counting & it keeps on going & going & going.

well, me thinks that,  calling other people "racist" for calling other people "racist" for calling other people "racist" is more just adding juice to racism.  that is where i am coming from ... no maybe about it.
So , ingnoring my main argument it is back to sweeping it under the rug & ignoring that a rose is a rose is a rose.  Nice going!

well me thinks the story you tell yourself about racism is not at all the same story i tell myself about racism... it does not match the facts i see on the ground.  my theory is that you and people like rush have made up that story to justify railing against browns who are calling out what feels like racism to them.   it's like somebody calling your mother fat, and you saying "so's yours".  to me that is all 714 actually is all about.  unless you actually understand that, i really do not think that it will ever be useful for us to talk about racism.

Yep, those are NOT facts - just farts - your STORY!  Too much juice for the racism community. I don't go looking for it it just shows up when Sharpton, Jackson & Obama start it up again. You probably will NEVER understand since you have a vested interest in the JUICE!
DRINK UP!

...
-OR- try to imagine what it would be like without resorting to the Juice.  What is the juice all about that makes the well not dry up? Could we all be just be humans with human problems.  How long past the 152 years since the civil war which none of us were alive in, nor none of us were slaves or probably slaves of former slaves of (or slave owners) ... do we need to keep telling that story? I notice you always go back to your diversity argument of otherness when I call for a post racial society.

Yes i do.  That is because diversity and a respect for otherness is one of the strongest forces in the living universe.  It is why this beautiful complex Love is growing.  To take a bit of poetic license i would  even say "it is life itself".  Being the same means you are competing for the same niche ... so life diversifies and spreads out.   Fighting what has split off from you to presume that it is more just  yourself works totally against this living force.
So what does that have to do with removing racism & the race card & the n-word from the public & private square?  More juice left?

Mark de LA says
seth 2013-07-25 12:51:22 16644
well of course we respect another person for their humanity which we ourselves share ... that is not even in question ... and not really worth mentioning, unless you are back in the 18th century when some people didn't even believe that blacks were truly human.   when you can appreciate and respect a person for those qualities which you don't share, well then i will call you transcending racism.

think of what you are saying to this other person ... you say, "i respect you for those things that i also am ... but those other things, well those are not even worth mentioning".

switch your thesis to something other than race ... like for example ego to ego.  maybe then you will get the gestalt.  it is our differences from other beings that needs of respect ... not our similarities.  that part is easy.
Still arguing a moot point from the wrong side.  Re-read what I wrote above in blue; especially the last sentence!  You are cherry-picking words from my statement to fit your preconceived notion that about racial distinctions.  I have disposed of that by showing you that all you want in the way of respect for etc. is contained in the plain old differences between humans.

well, just because being color blind to race is not the solution to racism ... respecting the other race, with all its differences, as you would yourself like to be respected is
Actually, YOU are the one who insists on using the phrase code word color blind about racism - that is not my distinction.  I am going for the next level up which is HUMAN! We all share that same distinction as human beings.  Post racial to me means not using race distinctions as an excuse to argue, judge, excuse, blame, criticize, politicize, incite, agitate, allocate, study, or educate another HUMAN!    Having done that the "respecting another human, & their differences as I would like to have mine respected" is a moot point congruent with the Golden Rule!

Samo-samo chip on the shoulder shit.  Basically the cashier knew the first woman & probably not the second or something like that.  You can try not seeing a racist pink elephant in the room as hard as you want to, if that is what is in your mind you will see it even if it is only in your mind.

well i guess you just can't feel her hurt.  instead you interpret her hurt as a chip on the shoulder

the funny tilt part is then you put that back on me and then "" about it.

Me I like the humor of #SNL. It just happens to be embedded in a #racism rant. It’s not on a Youtube by itself that I know. Maybe I should go for the #bass-o-matic one as an illustration of munging. null

Seth says
its just that is what this #juice means to me.    i saw a play in a small theater of Berkeley back in the 70’s … they had a string commung from the celing going to the face of a guy sitting on the stage … they kept sliding slabs of meat down the string and hitting him on the face … he loved it … more and more … do it again and again.  its not quite the same thing as a stimulus/response/reward cycle … but it dramatized that treadmill for me … when it comes up … i always flash on that.  maybe you saw that play with me, i forget.

Mark de LA says
#NotMe – the good old offended thingy – I have no idea why a hilarious skit from SNL would offend anyone – maybe Greeks maybe not .  I used to love gyros from a greek restaurant/deli in Canoga Park. You? – who would have guessed. Maybe if speech were not free & the criteria had to be to offend nobody you would be safe. Everyone would have to shut up & this blog would have to close.
