M-coins, HC-coins & Bitcoins instead of healthcare
Place holder until the race thingy dies down. The main idea is to do something like bitcoins for the entire health care industry - salaries to hospitals to medical equipment etc. Then begin to think in terms of the coins instead of their exchange rates so that all the humans involved separate the thoughts of profits, insurance & the rest of the shit has tilted the costs to skyrocketing & dizzying heights.

i don't get the connection of bitcoins to the health care industry. i mean, bitcoins is just a currency ... perhaps a currency which is not as prone to political manipulation (or not), but just a currency none the less. seems to me that a currency is independent of what is transacted with it.
Good question, if there is one there - no question marks.
This extends my untax everything dealing with health care including salaries & hardware so that costs are reduced & the inflationary property of insurance is minimized. Bitcoins or some other digital currency can be used as a mechanism. As long as HC-coins are left inside the system they are left untaxed. Only when they are converted via an exchange to dollars can they be taxed. The details are still emerging. I wouldn't want to discourage investment, but in a way this could become a tax shelter while doing some good for the health care market & individuals.
Think along these lines & see if you can be of help & innovation. I have yet to figure out the root economics of Bitcoins & other similar currency.

ok, i get it now. it is the isolation of a currency that is only used for health care and not taxed ... a private currency for health. perhaps something to think about ...
. so the health coins could be used to pay doctors and buy medicine, but would be taxed when profit was taken out of the system as profit. hmmm ...

Questions that need to be answered:
- Is SatoshiDice a method of denial of service for bitcoin?
- Maximum bitcoin limit is 21 million or around 2.1 billion dollars. Then what discussion.
- It doesn't scale to the health care system which is ~2.72 trillion dollars & at exchange rates is approximately 1300 times larger than the maximum number of bitcoins.
- transaction rates are well below what a health care system would be used at
- answers while preliminary ones are good in the BitCoinWiki are hard to find sometimes e.g. what would happen if some CRAYs were added to the system of mining?

The Federal reserve is printing money faster than Bitcoin exchanges could ever catch up. I know the wikipedia reference on quatitative easing says they are not the same. However if you leave out the statement that the purpose is otherwise it is a distinction without a difference.

What may be a more interesting experiment is to put each segment of the economy on a different Bitcoin like currency & then have them negotiate against eachother in a final round of value vs value. This could be a way back to threefoldness.

well, yes, i certainly can see how that would correspond to rs's scheme. my problem with it, at this point, is to wonder how the mechinism of segments of the economy actually negotiating with each other works. would that be some kind of star chamber of wise or stake holders deciding choices for the masses of people? kind of a bit top-down and certaralized, would it not be so?

Nope - no star chamber. Something like a bitcoin exchange with no real currency in the mix. I really don't have all the answers yet, but just intuition that it might be good.
