Server crash

About: understanding linux inode basics | inmotion hosting

The inmotion server crashed for all domains.  Apparently we ran out of resources.  The about page might give us a way to monitor that resource. Support bumped up the number of inodes.  

apparently same thing happened in 17879

When we delete nested comments, items & pictures does the database recover the space? 

yes.   those are just records in the mysql db which get deleted and that space automatically recovered.

If there are no references to a picture in the media file is the picture space recovered or the picture deleted?

no the actual picture remains in the directory ... err, apparently forever.
