Why is it hard to photograph the man in the moon?

Note the man in the moon can be seen in the small thumbnail picture (upper left) of the same more detailed picture on the bottom.

So the trick is not to make the picture too detailed.

So perhaps here is the bind that means we will never see a really good photograph of the man in the moon ... the less focus the better the man is recognized, the more focus the less the drama or impact of the man is captured in the picture.

So just enjoy him when you see him in person

I would like to see a contest to find the best photograph of the man in the moon ... no photoshopping allowed. To that end, i would donate $100 to the prize.

It just dawned on me the other day that an AI facial pattern recognizer would probably not be able to recognize the man in the moon. I wonder if anybody has tried that seriously. For me that is part of the facination that i have with this dude.

It is funny, after GW died & on the way home from his cremation, I saw a huge baby floating in the clouds with the Sun as it's shining belly button.

i suppose that forgetting is good ... err, as all things must be ... but remembering is even better. i had forgotten that i had already studied this theme of photographing the man in the moon some time ago until i taged my item man in the moon.
