Why Do You Like or Hate Politics?

This question showed up again this morning.  Ask a friend if you are not candid with yourself.  A few weeks ago I answered it for myself somewhat as follows.  I like politics because there is no right or wrong answer & everyone stands on equal footing as far as opinions go.  There are no right or wrong answers. What you do with the answers may be another matter, however!
I must add one more answer today & that I like solving problems which are complex & yield to outside-the-box thinking.
Finally from this AM the idea came to me in the form of a question: "What would it be like if politics were fun, easy, & good & the way we would want them to be?"
Today the metaphor is "all frosting & no cake" (Thanks Blake Shelton for letting that loose last night on The Voice)!

What triggered this was a preliminary thought about RS's new energy which could only come about & given to humanity when they learned to control their own emotions & behavior so as not to destroy humanity & the Earth which is not yet ready to be destroyed yet. The two are connected!

well the power plays and RWG in politics do not feel good.  ... err, so just don't do that.   rather all we need to is to "to see where governing is necessary and then learn how to arrange the controls on those situations effectively".
More like we need to find where governing is NOT NECESSARY & get rid of it there. I don't feel good about the word controls .... morphs into the verb controlling & control which are an anathema to FREEDOM!

same thing .

I think that the answer lies in the individuals & not necessarily in the collective. Both participants & followers of politics share the problem of the right-wrong game & that is hard to shed because of these , particularly vanity, false pride & perhaps greed.

.. with a dose of piss & vinegar rolled up in snottiness.

Not same as per your binary world dislike. It is a matter of emphasis. I prefer to reduce the size & scope of governments & get rid of the unnecessary things it does & return those to the private sector.  You prefer to look around for more things government can do.

Unfortunately things don't just happen ... they need control ... that is the nature of governing and civilization .... witness this ...

Best coin ever spent

it did not, just happen.

Still not on topic.  Still anti-freedom. Still don't want to go down the rat-hole of your link just to find out whether it is a sleeve-job or not without a front end summary of your point instead of just reasserting your premise.
So lets get rid of the internet, cell phones, twitter & a bunch of other things & institute even more spying on private citizens & then we will be able to control flash mobs, eh?
Thanks for sharing, though.

The better question to ask is how do We the People control our government? How can we control a president that lies about health care in order to crony in his Obamacare signature boondoggle? How do we impeach a president who lies ? What can we do about secrecy used to distort what is happening in government & thus control the government.  Originally the US Constitution was written & signed in order to limit government. Now it appears to be just a suggestion.

anyway ... to answer the question in the topic ... i hate politics just because it is so vary vicarious.   it is about things most of which i do not directly experience ... especially the things politicians say to each other and to the public.  as experiences go for me it is not all that much better than watching a law and order rerun.

that is why my reaction to tea party propoganda is to want to improve the process directly myself ... i call that Zen in the sense of motor cycle maintenance.

Yep, that would work for me if you also had the same experience/point-of-view on the current  Congress & administration such as for stuff like this: [see: item 16852].

it would be almost impossible for me to have this kind of experience or attitude towards Congress and/or an administration ... that, er ... is my point.
Yep, that is my definition of a partisan with partisan talking points.
