Hiding inside walls
There is a by-product of this ~beautiful~ yet ~horrid~ wall separating me from you. There is this necessary consequence of the ~amazing~ yet ~absurd~ predicament in which i find myself. This consequence is: I can hide behind the wall. There I am sovereign King. There i need not solve painful contradictions from others. There i can glory in my own personal world.
"I have no need to share" ... "i do it all just for me anyway"

A personal note seems to be in order on this particular item. I do prefer to talk in the first person. Why? Well just because it is far easier for me to talk honestly from that perspective. By and large i do not experience what you experience, nor do i experience what everyone experiences, therefore i can not talk honestly about that from a third person perspective. I can only speak with extreme honesty of what i myself experience.
That said, when i find a wall separating me from not-me, one should not suppose that i do not believe that same kind of wall separates you from not-you, or everyone from not-themselves ... for i do so believe that ... just that i cannot say so quite as very honestly as i prefer.
That said, when if find that this same wall can be hid behind, and say so quite out loud ... it does not mean that i wish to do so. nor does it mean that i like to hide there. nor that i like you to hide behind your wall. In fact, wherever possible, i like for us to forge our respective walls.
That said, when i find that the best way to characterize a certain attitude is by the sentences "I have no need to share" and "i do it all just for me anyway", it should not be assumed that I myself glorify and encourage those attitudes in myself.
I said all of that to say that i do not consider myself particularly selfish compared to other men. Nor did i glorify my own individuality above others or the groups to which i belong. Though, i assure you, i have been accused of such by others.
Just saying
