Giving Being To Honesty (& Other Things)

About: google give being to in google books

There are 4 references to giving being to in the above reference material from google books.  The first 2 explain the term if you read the entire paragraphs etc as context.  Likewise the 4th equates giving Being with Mastery - rather profound.
I like also the very very end of the book which has:
The Art of Effortless Power - Peter Ralston: ...
"What is meant by the correct method of body and function? The answer is the consciousness commands and the body obeys. Carefully examine what the ultimte purpose is. If you do not seek carefully in in the direction indicated above, your time and effort will be spent in vain and you will have cause to sigh with regret."
...
Maybe google give being to will work instead of a link to where I found the book in google books.

LISTENING - around page 17 is also an interesting & novel approach here at fbi.
This part is particularly applicable to 17088 - the whole book is!
I am still working on the Cheng Hsin distinctions of
LISTENING, OUTREACHING, JOINING & NEUTRANIZING - Chapter 2 of The Art of Effortless Power - in contexts outside the martial arts & sex -to accomplish the Title purpose.

"effortless power" is doing something with no expectation of opposition.
maybe? - maybe not¿  depends upon where you do the expectation & what opposition means.  The fundamentals state some principles ... listening, ... etc - reading the body of [this: item 17189] - could change one's mind - or not¿

it does not work when the consciousness part of my being tries to command me to action.

have you been able to successfully and reliably do it yourself ?
Yep, that's why I gave you the examples of tennis & a more quick game racquetball. The metaphor of martial arts, which I have not experienced beyond a couple of things applies.

well that is strange ... i guess i don't understand this at all.  i believe when a person plays tennis they just move via instinct, their thinking taking no controlling part at all except afterwards to analyze the result.  i think there was a study by cognitive psychology where they found that the person moved tward the ball even before there eyes could recognize ... that is probably findable on the net.  and from my own experience, when i do something time critical, the will is already in my muscles, no thinking involved at all.

Maybe need to focus on CONSCIOUSNESS & not thinking - maybe read the book as well - that quote is from the final paragraph in the book.
, eh?
I like Peter's answer in [this: item 16414] .
