A Morning Game


I do this game in the morning when i get out of bed.  I try to be hyper-aware of what is happening in me at that moment when i start my day.  I lay in bed thinking of the day coming ... what excitement is there ... what challenges ... what events ... what must be done ... and what i am looking forward to doing. 

Thing is it seems I have three parts ... one that thinks ... one that feels ... one that does; and then there is the outside world.  In the case of this game that might be represented by the floor outside of the left side of the bed which my feet will hit when i actually do get out of bed. 

So there is this game around how it happens.  Will the thoughts of the excitement of the day prompt my doer to move my feet to the floor?  Or maybe it will be i must needs take a pee.  Will my feeler part feel as excited when my feet hit the floor as it felt in anticipation of the day?  Or will a dread of the consequences from events of the day be felt instead.  Or perhaps i will need to answer the phone.  But maybe i will hesitate ... rejecting that peculiar play ... wanting a better one composed.  Perhaps i will think it is right ... maybe even get a intense twinge ... yet still the deed didn't get done. 

So these plays are all different. 

This morning Denise has already been up in the bed stamping envelopes ... TV on ... thoughts of the day discussed ... her breakfast order specified: just toast and coffee.  Yet urgency was not there.  I contemplated the moment ... a twinge or two rejected ... then my doer got the jump ... we laughfed as we went to the breakfast ceremony .

Now this new morning here:  i had already garnered excitement for the day ahead.  I wanted myself into it ... and nobody argued.  kind of did it d'A's way, following the excitement!


Tomorrow will be different.

i did it this morning by remembering a feeling (attitude) that i thought i could reproduce on demand.  i constructed a representation of having that attitude as i worked  towards a more specific (yet generalized) task then intentionally timed the flood of that as i rotated my feet to the floor.  i had already decided to let the flood of feeling time the doing of getting up.
incidentally all of that happened without me voicing a single word.
