well yes sure ... but reward and punishment is what burns in habits ... once burned on, they are what cause the behavior.   So me thinks your answer is the same as mine.
chicken & egg ... again .. my friend!

yes certainly ... it is a pattern that occurs ... it's not important which element came first ... in fact i doubt that they can even  be teased apart.  So why is it so "ly" pointed out here?  ... or, asked differently, what am i missing?
