See also all the stuff under chaos magic or google chaos magic.
I first ran into their stuff when the old usegroups were the main collectors of interest & groupings & followed the thelemic & other occult topics.

Google Groups is a usenet reader - here is a portal to the usenet on discordia.

Interesting link - it appears that Phillip Smith has lived up to Breck's description of him. BC1 & 2 are copyrighted & available cheap through Breck's website.

Breck wrote me when I asked him about the latest story on him:
source: ... I cannot read the post. But this is probably sort of what I warned you about Philip Smith. He's untrustworthy in my opinion. Even as a bookseller -maybe especially in that capacity!
...
Suffice it to say I have all the genuine stuff both published, unpublished, in correspondence, in manuscript etc.  All of it is genuine.  Basic descriptions are in fastblogit with the pictures etc.  I may publish the entire Tai Shu & some of the unprinted parts of ZZ if I live that long.

via FB messaging: ... No relation. Helen Parsons Smith was married to Jack Parsons. Philip is just a sad and unbalanced person whom I met via Keith when I was in San Fran back in 2001. He's been interested in CFR but only because he saw Keith and I were doing something and he wanted to make money by selling the books, etc. I didn't get a favorable impression about his character. But ask Keith, he'lltell you
...

Well one cannot buy metaphysical  books unless someone else sells them.  Unsubstantuated rumors about someone's character, whispered behind their back where they cannot be defended, is not something that i will be trafficking in or in lending any credence to.  I know Philip from Facebook only and he has provided interesting information and dialogue to me from time to time with nary a hint of an imperfect character.  I am complete with this with nothing more to say except to repeat what i already said in this context on Facebook.

Maybe ask Keith who actually met him (or Breck who did likewise) - but no substantiation is not your mead

i don't talk with Keith any more .   You and Breck can make your piece with Philip (or not) just as you will.  Apparently there will be this judgement by you guys such that GW's work does not reach some audiences ... not really my concern.

So I tend to trust him more than your guy.  We have already talked by phone.  The reference to chameleon is probably phony just considering what I can find by googling around for the content of the white book in his picture.

Yep, buying BC1 for 25 dollars & selling it for 100 is not the market I want to reach, especially when there is an open portal to buy it on Breck's website. I still have ~ 150 copies of BC1 in addition to those that Breck has.  I also have appendices, manuscripts & the two earlier editions of that book which some day might be interesting to real people.

well if he can sell it for 100, then that is the market price, your wants in the matter are kind of just for you, eh?  I will tell you this, i would not sell mine for anything less than about $500.

Incidentally i used to have an original Book Chamelion all used and marked with the Chinese.  I may have left it at Walgrove, if you run across it, please forward here.
I haven't run into any of that stuff with your name on it.  I thought all stuff you let loose in the warehouse library & to dispersion.
