Tree Of Life

About: click the nodes in the map here to identify them

...

Interesting that this diagram, of unknown provinance, has a node under Malkuth.

That node is not named but in this diagram is associated with hands and feet.

Now i feel my doing in my hands and feet and therefore associate that node with doing ... er will.

I wonder what the author of this diagram mapped that node to and how that map was mutated from the Hebrew one.  Huh?

Do you have this book in the library over there?  It looks like all of these structures are shown on the front cover ... maybe they are described in detail inside the book.

The linked TofL is Breck's - linked to the CFR website. It is not very useful for the attributes; mostly just the names.

i cant find it there
It is buried a bit but that is where I got the link that you copied from my post. You don't need it anyway it stands on its own.

You can compare to this if you like .

Info & images are here - lots of them. I don't yet know how to set it up to go straight to the images in google .

This goes directly to images: http://images.google.com/ - then the search phrase "tree of life chakras" will get a bunch of pictures.

fun search but i still can't find that diagram over there from it.  i did, however, manage to find an interesting gossip that i hadn't previously heard.

incidentally you can fine the  diagram by a image search for "tree of life chackera".  is, perchance, this website the original source?

What i really want is a diagram that names each node, path, and chakera in plain English.  I'm not really into mystified symbols ... researching their meaning adds nothing for me except perhaps a reason to imagine something there in order to justify the effort of the search ... i love transparency over obscurity ... the later being far to easy to misconstrue or misuse ... sorry that is just my thing.

WOW! the lmgtfy site takes you to a list the first item is the one you want ; on that page are the words "tree of life" ... follow that link if you care.
Do your own research on the symbology, english names ( the tree of life is of Hebrew & Chaldean origin) ...

From this side of the cube (+), we see the regions assigned to Saturn (black), Mercury (orange), Luna (violet), Sol (yellow), Jupiter (blue), Mars (red) and Venus (green). These planets and colors correspond directly with spheres on the Tree of Life with the exception of Saturn (black), which Russell attributes to the Supernal Triad of the spheres Kether, Chokmah and Binah with Daath (Gnosis) at the apex of the pyramid.
... still no correspondence to Chakeras.

For me this stuff does not create a Gestalt.  Visually it suggests that it does, but whenever i try to delve deeper, and i have a number of times in my life, it just hairs into other people's associations of symbols to things ... and the wisdom of those associations in terms of a whole escapes me.   Then too the opus always gets served to me with a giant dose of kiss my ass ... which kind of putrefies it from my point of view.

I think that you are looking in a giant mirror which serves up your attitude toward the occult. I don't quite see why you are bothering with it right now. Unto what purpose? Just to make fun of it or rail against ancient old metaphysics of GW, RS & AC + a host of others?  One of the takeaways from RS fundamental "Knowledge of the Higher Worlds" is that cultivating an attitude of reverence (not toward him, but to the Cosmos & Nature, the spiritual world & so forth) is what opens doors.
Your mileage may vary.
If thoughts were like friends would they want to converse with someone who was arrogant toward their being?

yeah i knew that ... but have a bit of a different take on it.  has to do with 12.  that special number, divisible by 2,3,4, and 6, having 2 and 3 as its prime factors.   It just happens to be the number of edges in a cube ... and er ... just happened to be used by some ancient astronomers to divide the progress of the sky around the sun.   Might CFR have noticed that and just happened to choose that association?

Hey there is a beauty and a utility in choosing 12 as a divider ... that is one thing i all am saying.   A human being associated one set of 12 things to another set of 12 things ... that is another thing i am saying.   Do those associations represent something in the WORLD that goes beyond the mere 12 ness ... er, well that is up to another human being to interpert or not.  Me i don't expect that other pointer of the representation to the WORLD ... do you?

Incidentally i am all agape on the the number 12 ... and it seems to me that it is you who are always saying "nothing remarkable here" .... really, i'm actually surprised that you now see that in me ... mirroring, eh?

well this may explain some of my interest and attitude here ...

source: Philip Smith on Facebook ‘The advantage of learning to appreciate and act on the “magical” meaning which underlies everyday events over reliance on any of the ritualized and schematic occultist systems is that one’s vision is not in any way limited or one’s action proscribed. The system is continuously changing: nothing is given (which is why the method cannot ultimately be “taught” to anyone): No symbol can be properly understood without reference to the concerns of the observer. Naturally, the craziest kind of craziness according to the savants

source: my comment in response
do you think that "magical meaning" is a *personal* Gestalt? ... er, not to be just read from scripture?
... so if there is a personal gestalt to be grocked, then i want to do it in the light of my own musings ... or said differently can i see how the tree of life, the chakeras, and the cube can inform what i am seeing there

According to Phil you should probably invent it by yourself.

... but "nothing comes from nothing, nothing ever could" -- Rodgers and Hammerstein

... in other words, the rest of the world necessarily informs any invention.  i love that word, "informs".   Still and all the final conception happens personally.  Is it not the same with you?

Why make just happened bold? One of the more remarkable 12 is the spectrum nature of the 12 & how one blends into the next in the points of view of philosophy developed by RS in the link here. As a woo-woo aside the 12 senses divide into a 3-4-5 grouping like the pythagorean triangle - to wit the 3 spiritual, the 4 body & the 5 soul (normal) senses.

.
.. well i certainly like this diagram ... more so than the Cabala.

12 does spectrum 6 dualities nicely ... but traversing those dualities through 7 views is something new i need to think about.  hmmm ... but why just 6 spectrums?

i don't see any 12 senses named here ... where is that?

Incidentally, ask yourself: what happened in the WORLD and what just happened to get associated by a human?

... or ask yourself where is a pattern ?  is it in the metaworld of mind, or is it in the WORLD ?

and actually honestly answering those questions, for a change, might get us closer to seeing something together.

Mark de LA says
s senses might help.
The ancients looked up in the sky & created animals & beings in the arrangement of the stars. see the wikipedia on zodiac.
The spectrum is circular here with the end & beginning your choice.  Read the referenced book.

well my question was not what were the 12 senses ...  but why those senses have anything to do with 12 animals recognized in the stars (no gerbil included), or the 6 spectrums that RS recognized.  also why only 12 senses (sense of pee not included) ... and why only 6 spectrums (sustainiability not included).  Me thinks that to understand these mind maps, from an objective view, those kind of considerations need to come into play.

Hmmm ... let me blurt out what i am wanting from a different point of view ... and please mark, try not to notice that it is me saying it ... because that is not the important thing here.  I tried to do a thing with mentography were every salient edge in the model represented something in the world which it was mapping.  in other words all the salient edges in the map had corresponding salient edges in the territory ... and visa versa.  if anyone has pressed me on some detail i would have been able to tell them what corresponded to what ... or just shrug and say it was an irrelivant detail ... or alternatively something not in the scope of the map.  it is the one-to-one-ness between map and territory which i am looking for in these mystical mandals.  i'm not finding them is all  that i am saying.  all that i am finding is somebody associating this with that.  but if there is more there than just humans associating this with that i surly want to see it myself.  honestly mark, have you seen what goes beyond mere human associating things?

Doesn't do anything for me. Is it some kind of a Freudian obsession?

Mark de LA says
What would be a typical usecase for your map?  Why would one use it? How would they use it? What could they accomplish if they had it?

Mark de LA says
We don't even have perfect tzu word to word that 2 people can agree on let alone drawings.  I don't use the hieroglyphs, mandalas etc as natural drawings of anything nor really maps.  I use them as a symbol to focus on for meditation & other purposes so that my mind doesn't wander during contemplation etc. I work in the opposite direction & when I get something that I want to remember or revisit I put it in the map either physically or mentally. The cube, particularly the tablock, is a wonderful toy to do that with because it has so many components & spectrums of representation including mathematical algebra.
The periodic table is a chart of the physical properties of the elements. Other worlds particularly those corresponding to the mind, being & spirit have no well defined edges. Try putting edges on some art form such as music, dreams & astral projection.
Let me know if you find a way to do it.
good luck

well for one thing it shows the absurdity of your apple example above.  draw the diagram yourself and you might see.  if you draw it in sufficient detail you will be able to read the impossibility directly off the diagram.  the model can also show exactly what abstraction is.  but then we will never get to any of that stuff because we never get off first base.

why? ... well maybe your mind just has a knack of not grasping the tangible edges of things ... and then too you can get way too much fun by just denying them,  as that fun is what's in it for you anyway ... no need to trouble yourself with the actual content.  i know that's what's happening from outside of your mind ... why? ... well  because your responses in those cases always have zero content ... but they never do lack of representing your fun.

anyway, just take it as the answer to your question of what i was searching for in the mystical maps .... which, er ... you should apply your same use case requirement to ... and if you do, please by all means let me know how you can read off or predict something practical.

  1. you asked me for a use case.  then you comment to me provided one ... it was the apple (or whatever) inside the meat computer ... see MR 2014-06-05 13:49:12.  my mental topography developing in representation is quite capable of drawing a picture model of that ... and if we were to start introducing rules that restrained the practice, it would be quite capable of showing that it could never happen.  i didn't draw the diagram and left it for you to draw.
  2. well i criticized you and of course you are not going to accept that criticism but instead will see that bug in me ... and there i'm talking about the "zero value" at the end.  the fun i talked about is just you doing the "shove it up your ass" stuff.
