google open source blog: cayley: graphs in go

I wonder just how close Google is to offering the technology necessary to implement some of the original purposes of this group.

If Wikipedia were to go into the news business more than it is , down to the molecular level like my Event Model & the editors of the items were fair witnesses (See stranger in a strange land) either interface might work.
I think, Wikipedia is doing quite a bit of recording the news ... and there is a dedicated group of editors following rules quite similar to fair witnesses.  I think the data structure of Wikipedia and Google are quite similar, and might even be some of the same files.

I'm thinking that the culture that is creating these vast objective memory datas are closer to what Heinlein imagined than you may suppose.  I don't know ... i haven't experienced it with the people who are actually doing it.

Incidentally what Google is doing here is, i believe, what gives them the data to give you precise detailed information about the things you search for.   For example google Rudolf Steiner and on the right you get the precise information below ... or search for information on me and you may get results that are peculiarized for you because google knows that we know each other.

I kinda liked Neo4j - a graph database organization which interfaces with lots of languages. If Wikipedia were to go into the news business more than it is , down to the molecular level like my Event Model & the editors of the items were fair witnesses (See stranger in a strange land) either interface might work.  I got sidetracked trying to make the demo work on Neo4j. It worked briefly but then I ran into computer problems.
A great challenge now exists where the consumer of news is not interested in the details or the news itself.  We get what we want: a headline, a meme, a newsforce with newsfronts embedded with politics, bullshit pols, etc. , bloggers, instagrams & tweets.  The best I can do is unhack my own brain.
We may or not be in a world like the movie Strange Days.

Yeah Kingsley noticed the same thing.  He and others are actually trying to do this thing.  But they have been tied up for years now on snarly problems of identity and the vastness and diversity of shared data.  Some day me thinks they will solve it.  ... or so the story goes.

Did you read the book?  Most of Wikipedia is second hand at best.  First-hand witnesses, fully objective & trained is hardly characteristic of the editors.

Then today we see this ...

Wikidata just got 10 times easier to use

... i believe that this Wikidata is the database behind Wikipedia.
