It is what it is and i like it.
To me the happening of life is not just "earthly" in relation to a grander existence.

Well that "downgrading" permeates anthroposophical, religious, and new aged thinking. Many say it is just an illusion, preferring the splendor of their imagination instead. To deny that, is just to feign ignorance of what is being said.

I think it is more accurate to say, "To deny that most spiritual thoughts downgrade what actually happens in life, is to be oblivious of the implications of what they are saying".

BTW most mental illusions & miss-communications (such as this one) are similar to optical illusions - my point in posting this postcard (from the GW collection) which was given to me on my birthday while I was at sea, I think.

... hmm ... well i can distinguish between story and happening and there is a difference ... thanks for noticing. but as i live and am happy or sad is there really any importance or preference to be emphasized? Why down grade any happening to mere "earthly" ? There is a political statement here in Schiller's words to which i do not subscribe. Your illustration strangely highlighted that with the way it can be seen as a church or as a face. That's all i am saying. I like to live my life without that schism ... it irritates me.

Shiller was a poet, dude - no imagined good vs evil or occult in the card.

in which mark presumes that I did not understand what Shiller said in the context of his thought and culture ... and even erroniously sticks good vs evil or "occult" into my interpertation ... and then prodects his judgement of his own error on me. i'd stick a laugh here but it is really not funny.

Incidentally, the poem was by Schiller i presume ... but who drew the two-viewed picture ? Do you know?

anyway to research Schiller's intended meaning, check out how "earthly" is used in the poetry of the 18th century ... it is a subtext here, not his primary meaning, yet one which is assumed in the thought.

and then note, whether you like it or not, what Bozo Faust is saying instead.
