This leveling-out process will bring war and bloodshed in its train " war in the shape of economic strife among nations, pressure for expansion, suppression in every form, strife in the sphere of investment and profit, industrial undertakings, and so forth. And by adopting certain measures it will increasingly be possible to handle vast masses of people by sheer force; the individual will acquire greater and greater power over certain masses of the people. For the course of evolution is leading, not towards greater democracy, but towards oligarchy of the brutal kind, in that the power of the single individual will immeasurably increase. If morals are not ennobled, this will lead to brutality in every possible form. This state of things will come, just as the great water-catastrophe came to the Atlanteans.

... Not for everyone, but this is circa 1904 pre WW-I&II etc. Seems as if progress is still lacking at least from the external viewpoint

Progress is there, in abundance even. You are missing it because your focus comes from a place of lack, from a place formed out of the rest of RS’s words in this treatment, which are about lack.

If you form your seeking from a place of abundance, from the idea that the world is on track and evolving, from the Zen understanding that all really is well, you will begin to see the progress.

Is that so? Yes, that is so.

I’d like to hear #RS talk about the power of diversity operating in human affairs. The passage above seems oblivious to that. Diversity + Tolerance & Understanding → can lead to some exciting possibilities, with and/or without, catastrophe.

Surface racial differences do not provide a real power of diversity of which i was talking. But those may well be the kind of things that RS is refering to in the passage you quoted. I would need to read further to determine what he is saying to justify, “This specific colour must be eliminated.
