Well my experience as myself has value just to me.  I can not see how it can possibly be otherwise ... for only i can experience it.   Oh sure you can kind of see it as i publish things like selfies,  but you will experience those vicariously as  otherness ... certainly not as yourself. 

I don't think there really is any thingey called "identity" ... rather there is a process of identifying ... of separating that which is that, from that which is not that.  So perhaps i should have said, "Ego is just the process of knowing who you are".
