Well, IMHO (which is neither), it is not binary. To imply that one or the other is exclusively what IS is to ignore a vast reservoir of tradition & thinking on the subject. For example this ancient hebrew notion of levels of consciousness exists in Kabbalah and Hwa Chi. I am sure that munging it all into just that which is physical is a waste of my time & yours ? who knows?

Yep, I signed the charter for compassion way back when they were still working on the wording. Groups don't act all in unison, not think in unison. Racism exists just for that reason. Most individuals are human. Do they think & act (Golden rule talks about acting) alike when they focus on their races? nationalities? localities ? We don't even think & act alike. There is always haggling about loving one another & acting accordingly.

well the more entities interact in unison and harmony between themselves, the more we can recognize their collection as a coherent being. otherwise that being fades to background noise and cannot even be reliably recognized or interacted with ... with ethical reciprocity or otherwise.

Well yes humans have evolved quite far from slime mold ... which is why much more is expected of us, and is hoped for the being or network that we create by our mutual interactions. that sometimes our interactions are not productive, is no reason to give up on those which are.

A "consciousness soul" may be more a conception built into the language we use, than anything that actually happens in nature.

Yep, I see you are stuck on|with "productive" interactions & buzzwords. The consciousness soul is something from the Anthroposophical Weltanschauung (world outlook) & something I am feeling that you are trying to get rid of by your very specialized self-ontology with you the only authority & you the only user.

it is interesting that all the literature you refer to here has a spiritual/physical duality assumed to exist in its ontology. since i have found no no such duality in mine, i think you will understand how it is hard for me to integrate that thinking with my own.

      Maybe - maybe just your ontology. GW & RS hold that it is all integrated as one but for analysis they map separate things. It is like analyzing a plant you notice that a cabbage may be growing somewhere, but you can identify leaves, flowers, root systems etc. not all visible at any one time nor with the eyes & the sytems of H2O, CO2 & O2 & nitrogen extend in & out of the plant - some invisible.
      Consciousness is a slippery subject.Try figuring where dreams & thoughts are & come from.
      PR has a new book devoted to just that subject. I may get it for the Kindle.
