ming vs beads vs tarot

i was wondering this morning if ming was kind of like the glass bead game ... more than an actual practical language.

i was also thinking that as such it is not as good, at least for me, as using a more expressive pictoral symbols, like the taro deck. i mean, me, i have always wanted to make a deck, and see where the play in it would go.

the thing about ming ... and this is totally apart from GS's intentions for it ... is that the language itself is extremely prone to subjective imaginative interpertation. on the other end of that spectrum of language is algegra ... which is not prone to subjective interpertation at all. that is the real edge that promped my sentences above. tarot is a similar "language" which is also prone to subjective imaginative interpertation ... and that is in fact why it is used. now compare the two for what that actually do. then throw in glass beads, even though you are not yourself conversant with it, and you may get the meaning of this item.

incidentally, you may or may not know, that one of my favorite stores is being Magister Ludi of the Glass Bead Game ... i rather prefer following that story rather than RS's path to initiation. You know ... it really does take all kinds of us beings to make up the naked city.

The point of the ming is that it captures & describes & encapsulates the subjective.

There are only ~ 1000 ming words & only a few corpora of it's use. There are many more in Chinese.
My earliest memories of you are in the 2nd playhouse with siblings trying to reinvent

- so none of this is surprising.

Ming & the glass bead game are not related except in your sentence. GW wrote his dialect of Chinese to support projective geometry & Yi King teachings. The etymology of Chinese used to be traceable here. I never was able to read Hess' Glass Bead Game as it just appeared to me to be over officiously invented. The Tarot supposedly represents stages of life & initiation. Some use the cards for fortune telling. Others take the cards & meditate on them as an astral doorway to the spiritual world etc. Many decks of tarot cards are out there. There used to be a Tarotpedia which is now under reconstruction but had all the historic & recent deck designs. There is something like it here. I suspect that any invented language is unlikely to have the property of practicality. I found your mentography useful in describing computer programs & designs similar to a later invention like UML. Something invented that does not share some [properties: mingchar tzu] the domain you are describing with the language & purpose for doing so seems challenging.
