peculiar to each particular mind

... in other words "subjective" ... but then that word carries extra connotations and baggage to which i did not refer.  Hence i constructed a phrase which eliminated that baggage.

... my first usage of this phrase is in 18271 ... and the only other one i can find on the web is here. Do they refer to the same thing?  From what i read i rather suspect so ... but i would have to read his whole sermon to determine.

* illustration of "peculiar" thanks to "Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children".

My point is that experiences which are peculiar and particular to one mind, cannot be shared with another without careful syncing and detailed honest communication between the minds.

I find that to be the consequences which obtain ... or in other words, "just the way the ball bounces" ...

... & a little ESP

I cannot tie most of my experiences directly to sense perceptions.  So that, yes, were these experiences to be shared, then a whole lot of ESP must obtain.  I have found that experiences that can be directly tied to sense perceptions are far easier to share with others ... er, for others probably see the same things anyway ... er, the consequences are already shared ... maybe that is why i love them so much.

I submit for your enjoyment The Myth of Er  of which I am always reminded  by your punctuation style.

... perhaps a fun story ... yet completely irrelevant to 18274 or to "my punctuation style".

My 'er's are intentional.  I put them in as a hesitation to warn you that what follows might hit you as controversial.  They give you a bit of my awareness of your awareness of the material that i am about to present.
So what? I gave you the myth because your selfie awareness stuff is irritating & irrelevant sidetrack to content - ... er if you really have something.

Well fine, thanks for your more direct information.   Now knowing that it irritates you I will take that into my consideration when i use it.

Strange though ... maybe me being me is what actually irritates you ... now that may not be true over there but it is the only implication that i can draw from one person becoming irritated by another person expressing their awareness.  Does my use of "..." rather than the more traditional "." to end a thought also irritate you? ... i use "..." to imply that one thought flows into another with on abrupt end.   Frequently i type putting in more "..." than you see when you read ... later i will go in and trun the "..." into periods prior to publishing.  i do that where i feel that a thought is more isolated from its predecessor.  Does that irritate you as well?   I also use "we" whenever i feel it actuall could apply.   You have expressed irritation there as well.  Do you get irritated when i express things that just hit you as not you?  ... er, when i talk i do talk for myself ... i talk from my, peculiar to you, mind.   Should i be sorry that irritates you?   Should i change myself to avoid irritating you?  hmmm .... what do you think?
None of the above. I prefer standard English punctuation. Stream of consciousness with ... is OK sometimes.  You seem to take yourself seriously while I don't.  The story of Er was an amusement I ran into while tracing down some Ovid.  I didn't expect to have a lecture from you about your selfie - just a
Self aware story tellers who insert themselves into the story take away from the story they tell. It is like an actor continuously taking a selfie of himself or looking in a mirror instead of just acting. Maybe it is just a watchbird watching a watchbird watching you trying to find yourself, eh?

... well, yes of course, there is that ... good point.   Inserting self awareness can detract from a story ... kind of goes along with my irritations with you jeering at me when i am telling a story that has nothing to do with me ... or one where i merely use myself in the first person as an example.

One thing that you should accept here is that i am going through quite different things than you are ... so what bubbles up and becomes important to me are not necessarily going to be important to you.  that is just the way the ball bounces.  and me thinks that is something that you should embrace ... and if you did you might find that your irritation with my behavior might lessen.

My concerns, perhaps more and more, are the relationship i have to others ... other people ... and groups of them.  What does it mean to belong to a group?  What does it mean to belong to humanity?  How do i balance in feeling and action myself with and against humanity and the sub groups to which i belong?  How are my individual feeling, actions,  and intentions sustained to produce effective progress, even outside of myself, in the modern world?

Those kind of considerations of self's effect on other ... and other's effect on self ... the view from the inside, the view from the outside .... seem to be things you care nothing about ... your beliefs seem to have provided you all the awareness of that which you care to have.   But i am different ... awareness of this is something that i am all about.  So maybe when you hear me dealing with it, and where it does not interest you, could you maybe try ignoring it, rather than trying to make it go away?

Nope!
I will NOT be censored just like you won't censure yourself either. The RWG is alive & well & rarely ever goes away - even if requested by someone who makes it wrong.

... well fine, ok.

i merely suggested a way that you could maybe lessen your irritation with my behavior.  Apparently you felt that by me suggesting that method, i was feeling right, at your expense of feeling wrong, obviously an intolerable situation for you ... and apparently that was to you the most important aspect of my communication .... the importance of the suggested method itself paling in comparison and just ignored.

oh well.

They are not peculiar except perhaps to you.

Yes, of course ... thanks for noticing.

In summary ...

A thought actually thunk as true is grounded deep in the beliefs and cares of the mind which thinks it.  Thinking a thought is true is an activity unique to each particular mind.  Thoughts from minds dissimilar as to beliefs and cares will feel strange when thunk ... the more different the cares and beliefs the stranger they will seem ...  especially when the actual meaning of the thought is known and its truth honestly contemplated, yet one's beliefs and cares remain fixed.   I have observed that strangeness in myself and have ample evidence that others feel it as well.   I express that succinctly, with a twist of personal point of view for dramatic effect,  by saying, "A thought is peculiar to each particular mind".

Feeling the peculiarity of others thoughts, while still respecting them, is not something we do out of preservation of  individual selfie ... rather it is something we do out of love as we cooperate with other humans.   ... er, or so i think.

None of the above has proof, but thanks for expressing yourself!

Not a thing one can prove.  Rather a thing one can observe.  I can see it happening in almost every reaction you give to one of my thoughts.  Do you not see it happening on mine?
I reject anything that limits based on someone else's beliefs. You are welcome to limit yourself if it is fun, though.

I do not get what limit you are talking about.   Could you explain the nature of this limit that you presume is contained in my observation?

My observtion is that your thinking is in no way limited by mine (or any one's) ... it is rather based on your own beliefs and cares.  So, what are you rejecting?
YOUR beliefs that are restricting.  I have no trouble analyzing my own.

Well yes, obviously my beliefs and cares restrict me ... your beliefs and cares restrict you.  I doubt that even you could disagree on that ... and it does not even need to be said.   And that you will reject my beliefs and cares as restricting you is also something that we both know and does not need to be said.  As far as i can tell, you are just providing a example of my point, "that experiences and cares which are peculiar and particular to one mind, cannot be shared with another ... except ...".

... But then arguing about arguing has already lost the thread.
... well i don't know, i have been able to follow the thread ... even down to noticing when you call dialogue arguing.
